The village of Westerbork is located in the northern province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. This is a small village and is renowned for the Westerbork camp. This Westerbork camp was an intermediate concentration camp where the Nazi's held thousands of Jews and Sinti/Roma people as captives during the world war 2 between 1940-1945. In addition to the Westerbork camp, the village Westerbork has also many attractions to visit, for example the paper art museum (museum van papierknipkunst) and the St Stephans church (a gothic style church) dating back to the early 15th century.
During our visit to Westerbork, we saw the st Stephens church from outside and also visited the paper art museum and took a detailed look. Paper art museum is a place where you can see magnificent works of different artists using paper. Namely shadow paper art, insect paper art and portrait paper arts are popular in this museum.

Fietstocht door Zuid-West Drenthe
Een aantrekkelijke fietstocht - 39 km - vanuit het Drentsche dorpje de Wijk (let op, met een kleine d). Een leuk startpunt is bij de Wieker Meule. Een tocht door een afwisselend landschap en door het centrum van de kleinste stad van Drenthe, Meppel ook wel het Mokkum van het Noorden genoemd. O.a. door een paar grachtennamen zoals Herengracht, Keizersgracht en Prinsengracht. Tussen Ruinerwold en Oosteinde lligt de Larijweg, een weg vol met perenbomen. In de bloesemtijd de moeite waard om te zien, overigens in het najaar ook als de bomen vol rijpe peren hangen. Al met al is het een fietstocht die de moeite waard is, zeker met een afsluiting in het centrum van het altijd gezellige de Wijk.
