Located on the western shore of Lake Garda, Limone sul Garda is immersed in a lush Mediterranean landscape and is among the most admired and visited places of the lake by lovers of sport, relaxation and nature. The particularly mild climate throughout the year has made it famous for the production of citrus fruits, grown since 1700 in the typical lemon houses, still in operation and open to the public.
Visit the picturesque alleys of the old town, relax on its Promenade full of flowers and palm trees, enjoy an aperitif and a delicious dinner by the lake. There is no shortage of taste, the traditional dishes are appetizing and genuine, based on fish and PDO extra virgin olive oil, and toasts are made with excellent wines. From the typical restaurants in the streets of the center, irresistible aromas emanate, inviting you to sit down and enjoy the hospitality of Lake Garda.
In addition to relaxation and food and wine, Limone is ideal for lovers of outdoor activities: there is a wide choice of walks among the olive groves, guided trekking on the trails, and water sports such as sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. There are numerous beaches where you can recharge your batteries in the sun and dive into the refreshing waves of the lake. The 5 Legambiente flags have rewarded the purity of the water, while the European EMAS mark certifies the commitment to environmental sustainability.
Among the things not to be missed is a guided tour of the Limonaia del Castèl (the lemon house), which is easily reached from the center of the village. Don't miss a bike ride on the famous cycle-pedestrian path overhanging the lake, which runs for three kilometers from the center of the village to the border with Trentino.

Since the 10th century the name Limon appears in many documents, often transformed into Limonum, Limono and Limone. According to some, the name derives from limen = border or from lima = river. However, these are not derivatives of the fruit 'lemon', but, according to the most recent studies in toponymy, rather reflections of an ancient voice of Celtic origin limo, lemos = 'elm'; hence Limone = place characterized by the presence of elms. The name of the town has been Limone San Giovanni since 1863; in 1904 it took on its current name of Limone sul Garda.
In the nineteenth century, lemon production went through a crisis caused by 'gummosis', a disease that affected almost all the plants in 1855; then there was competition from lemons in southern Italy and the discovery of synthetic citric acid, which drastically reduced exports.
The Legend of Limone
Legend has it that the love of the god Benaco and the nymph Fillide gave birth to twins, Grineo and Limone. In their father's mind, the first should have devoted himself to fishing, the second to agriculture, but the two, since their adolescence, preferred hunting on the slopes of Mount Baldo, where Limone was attacked and killed by a wild boar. In despair, Fillide pleaded with her husband to bring her son back to life: she gave him an infusion prepared with mysterious celestial flowers and the miracle was accomplished. Promptly obeying his father's wishes, Limone settled down in front of Baldo, in a gentle inlet sheltered from the winds, and cultivated the fruit that took his name.

Voglio condividere con voi, amanti del campeggio e non , questo fantastico spot dove campeggiare in libera o godersi una giornata di relax.
Qui doveva sorgere una bellissima area camper attrezzata, con bar e strutture ricettive, ma come spesso accade nella nostra regione, è stata iniziata e mai terminata. Rimbalzandosi la palla tra, ex Comunità Montana, Provincia e Regione, oggi questo luogo è lasciato all' abbandono . Con la speranza che presto, le varie istituzioni, facciano qualcosa di concreto per valorizzare al meglio sia questo posto ma tutto il lago, vi lascio questo breve video con la speranza che possa suscitare in voi la voglio di venirlo a scoprire. Oggiono è una città della provincia di Lecco in Lombardia. Qui troviamo una tra le più preziose testimonianze in ambito architettonico dell'intero territorio... stiamo parlando del Battistero in stile romanico risalente all' XI secolo.
All'interno della Chiesa dedicata a Sant'Eufemia troviamo l' ASSUNTA IN CIELO, opera di Marco d'Oggiono.
Poi , dalla piazzetta rialzata sempre vicino alla chiesa, vediamo il lago di Annone, uno spettacolo che non ha bisogno di tante parole.

Walking Tour of LECCO CARNEVALE
Lecco Carnival is a traditional festival that is rooted in the calendar of Lecco town and is held every year in February. This was the first time I attended this carnival and it was very beautiful and amazing. I have never been in such an exciting carnival before. Everywhere was full of color and music and people were dancing and different groups were passing in front of them.
The first post-Covid event attracted thousands of people to the streets of Lecco: fewer participants walked the streets compared to four years ago, but once again enthusiasm, confetti and colors were the masters, also favored by the now spring-like temperatures

It has happened every year since 1884 even though Regina Grigna has actually only appeared since the middle of the last century. With a period of pause from the tradition after 1958, this amusing custom has come back to life since 1996 which involves the delivery of the keys of the city by the mayor to the two rulers.
