The Fichtelgebirge is one of the low mountain ranges in Germany and is located in the northeast of Bavaria. It is morphologically subdivided into a horseshoe-shaped mountain range composed of several mountain ranges. One therefore speaks of the Fichtelgebirge horseshoe. The main ones are to be mentioned
the Hohe Fichtelgebirge with Schneeberg massif, Ochsenkopf with Königsheide and the Kösseinestock,
the northern mountain range with Waldstein, Epprechtstein and Kornberg,
the southern part with Steinwald, Reichswald and Kohlwald and
the inner Fichtelgebirge plateau.
The natural area of the Fichtel Mountains (Smrčiny) knows no political borders and crosses the state border with the Czech Republic. There, the Ašská vrchovina (Ašská vrchovina), the Haslau hills (Hazlovská pahorkatina) and the Chebská pahorkatina are part of the Fichtel Mountains.
In the northeast of the Fichtelgebirge joins the Ore Mountains, in the southeast the Upper Palatinate, Bohemian and Bavarian Forests. To the northwest, the Franconian Forest and Thuringian Forest can be clearly demarcated geologically. In the south-west, the Franconian Bruchschollenland is morphologically completely different.
The Fichtelgebirge, the roof of Europe, is a granite mountains with heights over 1000 meters, surrounded and interspersed with a mantle of older crystalline slate, broken through in the south by volcanic systems of different periods (see geology). The rock and mineral collector will find a variety of evidence of geological history in a very small space.
In earlier times the Fichtelgebirge was called Navel of Germany or Herzbrunnen Europa, because four important rivers originate here that flow off in the four directions: Weißer Main, Saxon Saale, Eger and Fichtelnaab (see hydrology). Numerous bogs and swamps, which are under nature protection, are valuable water collectors. And another special feature: the European main watershed between the North Sea and the Black Sea runs across the low mountain range.
The Fichtelgebirge with its extensive spruce forests, its granite mountains with rock towers and granite rock heaps and with its excellent panoramic and distant views as well as its idyllic river valleys is an ideal holiday and recreation area. 3,400 km of hiking trails marked by the Fichtelgebirgsverein lead to the natural beauties and sights of the region, through the rich corner of Bavaria. The Fichtelgebirge Nature Park, the Steinwald Nature Park, the Fichtelgebirgsverein and many tourist resorts ensure “gentle tourism” with landscape-preserving measures and facilities.
Nature and culture meet in the Fichtelgebirge and offer a comprehensive and appealing program, whether on a hike, a visit to a museum or a theater performance on Germany's most beautiful open-air stage. A visit to the bird of prey park on the Katharinenberg near Wunsiedel or an old mine tunnel in Fichtelberg and Goldkronach is not only popular with children. Thermal baths in the area invite you to wellness. A day trip to the Bohemian Baths is also recommended.

وهنا التعليق الصوتي: من الأمور الطبيعية والمعتادة في هذه الحياة هو النزول إلى البحر من أجل السباحة والتشمس. لكن أن تصعد الجبل لكي تسبح وتتشمس فهذا أمر لا يحدث إلا في أماكن قليلة من هذا العالم، ومنها قرية أوبرفيشتاخ الألمانية. تتبع هذه القرية الوادعة والمتربعة على كتف الجبل إلى منطقة شفاندورف، التي تبعد عنها نحو أربعين كيلومتراً إلى الجهة الشمالية الشرقية، بينما تبعد واحداً وثلاثين كيلومتراً إلى الجنوب الشرقي من مدينة فايدن، وسط سهول وغابات أوبربفيلتز أو بالعربية بالاتينات العليا في مقاطعة بافاريا. وتعتبر قرية أوبرفيشتاح إحدى أجمل الوجهات السياحية في بافاريا، لما تتمتع به من مناظر طبيعية خلابة وهواءٍ نقي يشفي العليل. ولا ادل على ذلك من كثرة الفنادق التي تضمها هذه القرية، فرغم أن عددَ سكانِها أقلُ من خمسةِ آلافِ نسمة، إلا أنها تضم الكثير من الفنادق الصغيرة والنزل، بل إن هناك شارع فيها يسمى شارع الفنادق، الذي يسير فيه هذا الكرنفال الذي يقام سنوياً في القرية، احتفالاً بعيدها السنوي. فيما مضى كان هذا الشارع يكتظ بالسياح، لكن حركة السياحة هدأت قليلاً في العقود أو السنوات الأخيرة بعد اتجاه الألمان أكثر فأكثر باتجاه السياحة الخارجية. واحد من أجمل الأماكن في هذه القرية هو بحيرتها الصغيرة هذه...
