AUSTRALIA's TOP wine-producing region (Barossa Valley)
Australia is the world's 5th largest wine producer, and 45-50% of this production comes from the region around Adelaide, the state capital of South Australia. Here you'll find the country's most renowned wine region, called Barossa Valley. It's just 1 hour away from Adelaide and very worth a day trip (or even better, go for the weekend).
Barossa Valley has over 150 wineries for you to choose from, and they're very different from one another. As we didn't know the quality of their wines, we chose 3 for different reasons: Bethany, for the picturesque site, Lambert for the family production, and Yalumba for the history. We were surprised that all of them actually had all 3 elements. They were extremely gorgeous properties with an incredibly family-friendly environment, history, and outstanding wines.
If you're choosing which wineries to visit in the Barossa, we recommend all three. As we both wanted to enjoy the wines, we didn't want to drive and opted for a company called Trailhopper. Our driver/guide, Nathan, was amazing. Totally recommend their services!

► WHO AM I?
I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he's actually camera-shy. That's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Whispering Wall Overview
The Whispering Wall is open from 9am - 5pm (6pm in daylight saving) and not open in total fire bans days, catastrophic fire days, and sometimes not open on extreme fire danger days. Check the CFS website for ratings.
The Whispering Wall is in fact the retaining wall of the Barossa Reservoir. Built between 1899 and 1903, the dam was a revolutionary engineering feat for its day and attracted attention from all over the world, even making its way into the pages of the journal Scientific American.
But what draws visitors to the Whispering Wall is its unique acoustic effects: words whispered at one side can be clearly heard at the other, more than 100 metres away. Children in particular love visiting the wall and testing its abilities.
Besides trying out the Whispering Wall, visitors can also learn about the history of the construction of the dam, take in the scenery of the water reserve and enjoy the colours and sounds of the peaceful bush setting.

Barossa Bowland and Mini Golf Overview
Barossa Bowland and Mini Golf at Tanunda has a modern, colourful 12 lane bowling centre with bumpers for kids, auto scoring, interactive touch screen terminals on each lane and much, much more.
It is the only bowling centre with a relaxing outdoor area overlooking South Australia's largest mini golf course with 18 holes of challenging putting - it cannot be compared to others!
Tanunda is a town situated in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia, 70 kilometres north-east of the state capital, Adelaide. This beautiful town is thankfully only 20 minutes from Gawler where I live, so I am indeed lucky to be living so close by.
Award winning and internationally renowned wineries surround the town and with it, also means some fantastic dining options. Follow me as I walk through the main street having two lunches at Char Barossa and Kampung Kitchen.

The Barossa Valley is a renowned wine-producing region northeast of Adelaide, in South Australia. The area encompasses towns such as Tanunda, Angaston and Nuriootpa, and an array of high-profile wineries offering tours and cellar-door tastings. Shiraz grapes are the local specialty. The stone cottages and Lutheran churches throughout the region are testaments to a 19th-century wave of German settlers.
