Ukraine; Nizhyn; Local History Museum
The Local History Museum in Nizhyn has a history of more than a century. The first steps towards the creation of a city public museum were made on the basis of the rich heritage accumulated in the Prince Bezborodko Higher Sciences Gymnasium and the Nizhyn Historical and Philological Institute. In 1902 and 1909, thanks to the initiative of Professor P. Zabolotsky, the Gogol Room was opened, which became the first museum institution. In 1919, the idea of creating a historical and ethnographic museum arose in Nizhyn, and in 1920 the first city museum of the history of art and ethnography was opened. However, the museum closed in 1921 due to lack of funding, and its collections were dispersed.
The revival of the local history museum occurred in the 1960s thanks to the efforts of the local intelligentsia. In 1967, the museum was reopened in the building of the merchant family Dyachenkov. The first director was V. Shokhodko, who headed the museum for 20 years. The museum quickly received the status of a branch of the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum and expanded its exhibits. Today, the Nizhyn Museum of Local History is an important cultural, educational and scientific center with extensive funds and active activities, including scientific publications and exhibitions, which attracts more than 10 thousand visitors annually.

Ukraine; Nizhyn; Vvedensky Monastery

Ukraine; Nizhyn; Vvedensky Monastery
The Vvedensky Convent is a historical Orthodox monastery founded in the 17th century by the widow of the Starodub colonel Anna Brislavskaya. It is located in the western part of the city. The monastery is famous for its churches: the main Vvedensky Cathedral and the church in honor of St. Elijah, which was located to the south of the first.
Since its foundation, the monastery has survived many trials, including devastating fires, closure during the Soviet period and subsequent revival at the end of the 20th century. Today, the monastery is actively being restored and is a place of spiritual achievement and pilgrimage. Services are held in the restored Vvedensky Cathedral.

Ukraine; Nizhun; Annunciation Monastery
The Annunciation Monastery in Nizhyn, founded in 1716, is an important religious and historical site in Ukraine. The monastery was built near the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the construction of which was begun in 1702 by Stefan Yavorsky. The founder of the monastery was his brother, Archpriest Pavlo Yavorsky. The temple became a symbol of the Battle of Poltava and an important spiritual center for local residents.
Two icons were especially revered in the monastery: the Annunciation, decorated with a precious frame, and the icon of the Dormition of the Mother of God, painted in Rome in 1435. The monastery was under the management of an archimandrite, and in 1884 the Brotherhood of the Mother of God Joy of All Who Sorrow was founded under him, which further strengthened its importance in the religious life of the region.
After the establishment of Soviet power, the monastery was closed and used as a warehouse. However, in 1999, monastic life in the monastery was revived. Today, the Annunciation Monastery continues its activities, attracting believers and tourists interested in the history and spiritual heritage of Nizhyn.

The park is a 3-minute walk from the central square of Nezhin. Especially good in spring, when the greenery of the trees ennobles the species. There are attractions in the park, but their performance is worth checking on the spot - you never know if they work.

Парк в 3 минутах ходьбы от центральной площади Нежина. Особенно хорош весной, когда зелень деревьев облагораживает виды. В парке есть аттракционы, но их работоспособность стоит проверять на месте - никогда не угадаешь, работают ли они.

Nezhyn, Ukraine Buiding Project

This was some of the work that we did in Nezhyn. We built a church from the ground up by removing the foundation of an old garage and using the space for a brand new church building for Calvary Chapel of Nezhyn, Ukraine. This was from March to August 2008. As of right now we do not have any footage of the currently completed project. As of March 2010 the process is slow due to lack of funding and workers but the roof planks are on and covered, this is the only progress from then. (I'm sorry for some of the misspelling in Russian!)
