Sorry, no editing after it has been published! One of the highlights of our Rhine Getaway B to A was the Mercedes Benz factory tour while docked in Kehl, Germany. They make you lock up your purses, bags, cameras, and phones in a locker, so I don't have any video of inside the factory, but we did get to film the rest of the tour. When I signed up for my Viking Cruise nine months early, this tour was not available, but I kept checking, and then a few months later, it showed up. I couldn't make up my mind, and then a few days later, the Mercedes-Benz was Sold out. I waited too long to decide! But the day after we got on the ship, I went to the guest services desk and asked if it was available, and she said to check back in an hour, and yes – it was! I booked it, and it was one of the best things about the trip. Unlike the Black Forest bus ride, this was only 45 minutes long and on the freeway (no winding roads.) Our software company had served the automotive industry, so it was fun to see how they were made. The video ends with a Port Talk and a trip through a lock.

Kehl is a town on the river Rhine, directly opposite the French city of Strasbourg.
Kehl to Strasbourg by Train about € 4.30.
You can take the “D” tram from Strasbourg direction Kehl and hop off at “Port du Rhin.”
Passerelle des Deux Rives,
is a pedestrian and cyclist bridge over the Rhine.
If you arrive by foot, you pass through gardens featuring sculptures, small play areas for children, and plenty of benches to sit and savour surroundings.
