Our trip to the Netherlands is the first time we are back home after 1,5 years of traveling all over the world. Before this you saw the big journey through Africa. It was the end of a trip that started on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. After that we visited Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mauritius, Réunion and Paris. The smallest city of the Netherlands: Bronkhorst
Bronkhorst has city rights since 1482 and is the smallest city of the Netherlands. It has 90 inhabitants and is very popular for a visit by bicycle. The river IJssel is closeby and you can take a ferry to cross the water. Bronkhorst used the have a castle but it was removed around 1828. You can still see what it looked like. There is a scale model at the former location.

#travel #netherlands #4k #4kcitylife Almelo is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands. The main population centres in the town are Aadorp, Almelo, Mariaparochie, and Bornerbroek.
Almelo has about 72,000 inhabitants in the middle of the rolling countryside of Twente, with the industrial centres of Enschede and Hengelo as close neighbours but also with tourist towns like Ootmarsum, Delden and Markelo only a bicycle ride away. Almelo received city rights in 1394. Within the city limits lies the castle of the Counts of Almelo.
Located in the city centre is Huize Almelo, a castle that in its current form dates back to 1662 (This castle is not open to the public). There are mosaics which decorate the walls of the tunnel close to the railway station.
The city is also known for its local association football club Heracles Almelo, which plays in the Eerste divisie, the second highest football league in the Netherlands. The club uses the Erve Asito.

Hengelo - The Netherlands
After visiting and filming cities like Vienna, Amsterdam, Florence, Rothenburg, Quedlinburg, Porto, Ghent and many many more... we thought: why not try and do the same to the Hometown: Hengelo.
And so we did.
Hengelo is a small city in The Netherlands, near Germany. It used to have industry in the old days, of which you can still see the remnants of now.
The black structure is a Salt House used to get salt from the ground. The city hall is modelled after Florence, after WW2. Hengelo was heavily bombed because of its industry.

Citytrip nach Apeldoorn - Hauptstadt der Veluwe
Apeldoorn wird als die „Hauptstadt“ der Veluwe bezeichnet. Die Stadt besticht durch ein breites Angebot an Aktivitäten. Hier kommen Shoppingliebhaber ebenso auf ihre Kosten wie Kultur- oder Erholungssuchende. Das Paleis Het Loo, die ehemalige königliche Sommerresidenz der Oranier, ist nur einer von vielen kulturellen Höhepunkten der Stadt. Die ganze Bandbreite von Apeldoorn entdeckt man am besten an mehreren Tagen, eine Übernachtung bietet sich im Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn-de Cantharel an.
