#naukot #pakistantravel #bhitshah
So our next destinations in The Beautiful Sindh are Naukot Fort followed by Shrine of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah.
In this vlog I also sang a Sufi Qalam Akhar parh alf jo which starts at 7:27 in this video. This Qalam is very close to my heart and I always wanted to recite it as Sufi song.
This Episode is called Gratitude and how our lives can change once we start appreciating even the smallest things in our lives.
Pakistan has growing tourism and We're trying to make the difference and invite everyone from around the world to visit Pakistan because its both, safe and beautiful. And by the way a lot of people from outside Pakistan asks, is Pakistan safe to travel? And my answer to them is YES IT IS. And travelling to Sindh is as beautiful as rest of the Pakistan.
Though I want to travel to every corner of Pakistan and explore the beauty of Balochistan, Punjab, KP, Gilgit Baltistan and all other northern territories of Pakistan but since I'm based in Karachi, exploring Sindh was the most convenient plan.

Naukot Fort - Mithi
Naukot Fort is a fortification that was established by Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur in 1814. It is situated in Mithi Taluka, Tharparkar District, approximately 64 km in the south of Mirpur Khas town, Sindh. Its location gave it its other common name, The Gateway to the Thar Desert. It is meant to guard the area against the Rajputs. The fort is unique in the area as bricks were only used for its construction and did not use materials such as wood and iron. The fort is developed of burnt bricks in mud mortar which is 113m in length and 98m in breadth. On the southern side of the castle, another four-sided construction measuring 15m × 13m has the entrance and a narrow approach to the internal placement. The entire walls and bastion reflects attenuating look. The thin narrow entrance is accessed via a twisted passage established by 2 heavy and semi circled bastions. The bastion is near to the gateway, and making a section of the 4-sided squarish establishment, is over 9.5 cm tall with a base of having a diameter about 42 meters. The altitude of arched entrance is 7 meters and breadth is 4 meters. The access to the internal section of the fort is via causeway kind room and hall, which is the part of 4-sided construction, itself a castle. The fort is composed of 9 semi circled bastions, while the 2 of them are protecting the primary entrance, four at the edges and one each at the center of the southern, northern and western walls. A four-meter-wide wall extends on the four sides of the castle. It owns two burnt-brick stairs to climb the wall upwards, from the internal side of the castle. The internal portion of the fort consists of the remnants of rooms etc. which might go to recommend that these were the residential luxurious quarters. A minor construction like a prison or dungeon could have been the room of barood khana, or the area to secure ammunition. Talpurs belongs to the Balochi tribe who later settled in Sindh. The Talpurs dynasty encamped in northern Sindh, spoke the Sindhi language very fluently. Soon their successors and associates established a federation against the dynasty of Kalhora.

Pakistan The Beautiful | Forts - Naukot Fort, Tharparkar
Pakistan The Beautiful | Going towards the end of town, the sight of Thar desert comes into view. Stuck in the rally of people, celebrating the release of Arbab Nazeer, nephew of ex-chief minister Sindh, Arbab Ghulam Rahim, we got late but, as my research said, right after entering the desert, within a few minutes the beautiful Naukot Fort comes into view. The Road leads to Mithi, & on the left goes a road to the fort which is a minute or two away from the main road. Very beautiful & the color of soil all over it, it is a small fort, with not much in it, except for the barracks & a few room, still it looks very beautiful. Here are the clips of the portions of fort which I captured. Because of not much experience, the footage's are not that good & not much in detail. Hope you'll like it.

Naukot Fort | Thar Desert Fort | Historical Fort In Sindh Pakistan
Naukot Fort is situated in Tharparkar District ( Thar Desert ) near Naukot City, Sindh, Pakistan. In this visit to historical places of Pakistan, we are visiting Naukot fort and tell how we reach to Naukot fort, who was the builder and view and visit different parts of Naukot fort.
Naukot Fort was built by Mir Karam Ali Khan Talpur, in 1814 CE . Naukot fort lies at the edge of the Thar Desert, so it is called Gateway to the Thar Desert.
There are two ways to reach to Naukot fort from Karachi . One from way from Motorway M-9 to Hyderabad, Mirpur khas to Naukot Fort is approximately 322 km taking 5 hours . Another way from Thatta Sujawal Badin road approx 290 Km taking 4hours and 45 minutes.
The fort is built of burnt-bricks in mud mortar and measures about 113m in length and 98m in width. The fort is guarded by nine semi-circular bastions; two at the main entrance, which are bigger, rest of the four at the corners and one of each in the middle of northern southern and western walls. A 4m wide wall runs on the four sides of the fort. It has two burnt-brick stairs to climb the wall top, from the interior of the fort .
The entrance to fort through two big bastions then passes through the main gate . This main gate open into a squarish courtyard . This squarish courtyard has small rooms , these rooms utilized by fort guards or soldiers . This squarish courtyard open into another arched type gate which has 7 meter height and 4 meter width .Through this gate we enter internal fort area. Beside this gate, on left and right side there are two stairways to reach the top.
Inside the fort there are rooms on left side, which is ammunition store (barood khana). One construction may be grain storage or a dungeon.
There is also a large courtyard which served as a royal court in the Talpur era, around which a number of rooms are scattered.
The Fort has been under the control of the Department of Culture of the Provincial Sindh Government. In July 2011, there was some damage due to heavy rains that eroded its mud walls. By the end of the rainy season, the outer wall and entrance gate completely collapsed. The Endowment Fund Trust for Preservation of the Heritage of Sindh (EFT), established by Government of Sindh in August 2008. the Endowment Fund Trust (EFT) was set up for the preservation of historical and cultural monuments in Sindh, and they especially focused on restoring the Fort. While most of the damage seen in 2011 has been repaired, EFT is still dealing with restoring some older sections of the Fort, such as the merlons and elephant-proof gates, and preventing water accumulation inside the fort walls
The weather in the Naukot Fort area is very intense, and the temperature is normally above 45C in summers , so the best time to visit this area is just after the annual rains during September, when parts of the desert become fertile and colorful. Naukot Fort becomes something of a tourist attraction after rain, as one can see a panoramic view of the rich and changing landscape of the Thar desert from its top. Tourists and families from nearby areas often visit Naukot during these cooler months. پاکستان کی سیر
