Best places to visit in Zimbabwe

Tour Zimbabwe – Part 2

Best places to visit in Zimbabwe

Harare City
Harare City is the Capital of Zimbabwe

Victoria Falls
This is a must see tourist attraction in Zimbabwe. Most people visit the falls between July and August when the weather is dry and less misty.

River Zambezi
The Zambezi (also spelled Zambeze and Zambesi) is the fourth-longest river in Africa, the longest east-flowing river in Africa and the largest flowing into the Indian Ocean from Africa. The area of its basin is 1,390,000 square kilometres (540,000 sq mi), slightly less than half of the Nile's. The 2,574-kilometre long river (1,599 mi) rises in Zambia and flows through eastern Angola, along the eastern border of Namibia and the northern border of Botswana, then along the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe to Mozambique, where it crosses the country to empty into the Indian Ocean.

Chinhoyi Caves
The Chinhoyi Caves (previously the Sinoia Caves) are a group of limestone and dolomite caves in north central Zimbabwe. Since 1955 they are designated as a National Park and managed by the Zimbabwe Parks & Wildlife Management Authority.

Bulawayo city
After Harare, Bulawayo is the second most visited town in Zimbabwe. You may also consider visiting Railway museum around the town to enjoy the view of a passenger coach used in 1904.

Mutare town
In this town you’ll have the art gallery and the Mzilikazi art and craft center to gaze. You can visit the Rhodes museum, the Aloe garden in the main park as well as the Vumba gardens. Then you can enjoy a wildlife view at the Chimanimani national park, Thompson Vlei and the Cecil Kop Nature reserve.

The Great Zimbabwe Ruins
It offers an impressive set of ancient stone complexes that are believed to have been built between the 13th and the 15th centuries during the existence of Munumatapa Kingdom.

Unlocking Zimbabwe’s Beauty: The Most Beautiful City In Zimbabwe.

Welcome to Mutare.
This by far is one of the most beautiful cities if not the most beautiful city in Zimbabwe. It’s located within the hills giving us magnificent views of nature and the natural art of how development takes place within said nature. Christmass pass is the most beautiful roads within Zimbabwe but trust me, it does come with its own Dangers.

Anothe thing to mention is the difference in speed of development of said city compared to Bulawayo. Bulawayo is in the past whilst Mutare heaps ahead on development.

Come along with us as we embark on a wonderful journey exploring the beauty that is Zimbabwe. We tackle a pretty long loop starting in Bulawayo and ending in Bulawayo passing through Masvingo, Mutare and Harare. The total journey is of 1281 Km and will be done within 3 days. In a car that is more then able (2.4 N/A 1997 Toyota hilux) it took about 10 hours to get Mutare and at least the heat wasn’t that bad cause it ain’t got an air conditioner.

Ep10|S1| We Are on the Verge of Losing this Gem😓| Small Bridge Dam, Mutare Zimbabwe| Zimbabwe Vlog|

All you need to know about Small Bridge Dam (which is another Zimbabwe travel destination in Penhalonga, near Mutare Manicaland/Easternhighlands) is shared in this vlog by a Zimbabwean Travel Youtuber.

When I learnt about mercury & cyanide now being detected in this waterbody & the other surrounding ones I was gut wrenched. I thought of all the fish & how people loved to swim in this clear, spectacular waterbody & immediately I knew I had to visit it without fail. Its serene beauty deserves to be known & you deserve to experience it too hopefully before it is just another hazardous site to stay away from. The last time I checked EMA was promising to do something about the illegal mining which is the cause of the mercury & cyanide deposits. So hopefully my biggest fear is not going to become a reality for this gem... ...& I also hope that you enjoy this video of my visit there highlighting its beauty :).

For a quick reference on detailed directions, road condition, best type of vehicle to use & entry fees at Small Bridge Dam (a destination in Penhalonga, Manicaland) check this link:
