Zambia | Things to do in Mbala
Mbala is located in the Northern Province of Zambia. It is 25km from the border with Tanzania and connected by a dry-season road to one of only two road border crossings between the two countries. The two countries also share access to Kalambo Falls which was my main reason for heading to Mbala.
Things to do in Mbala include
Daytrip to Kalambo Falls
visiting Moto Moto Museum
Enjoying sunset and sunrise over Lake Chila from Lake Chila Lodge
Thanks for watching

Zambia | Kalambo Falls - Daytrip from Mbala
The Kalambo Falls on the Kalambo River is a 235 m single-drop waterfall on the border of Zambia & Tanzania
It's one of the tallest uninterrupted falls in Africa. Downstream of the falls is the Kalambo Gorge, which has a width of about 1 km and a depth of up to 300 m, running for about 5 km before opening out into the Lake Tanganyika rift valley. (Description from Wikipedia)
I stayed at Chila Lodge in Mbala and made daytrip to the falls. You can also stay at the great Kalambo Lodge which is right next to the falls

Kalambo Falls Zambia and Tanzania
Kalambo Falls, Zambia and Tanzania - The 10 Most Beautiful Waterfalls in Africa.
Alexander Brugger / CC BY-NC 2.0 / Flickr.
Zambia may just be Africa’s land of waterfalls, with no fewer than three falls on this list. Kalambo Falls is located in the Northern Province near Mbala on the Kalambo River. It marks the border between Zambia and Tanzania and falls in a single, uninterrupted stream down a 725-foot drop into the gorge below. As well as being another of Africa’s tallest single-drop waterfalls, Kalambo Falls is a place of considerable archaeological significance. Evidence shows that the area has been inhabited for more than 250,000 years; making it one of the longest examples of human occupation in sub-Saharan Africa and earning it a place on UNESCO’s list of tentative World Heritage Sites. After the falls, the Kalambo River continues on towards the second-largest of the African Great Lakes, Lake Tanganyika. .
Lumangwe Falls Zambia
Lumangwe Falls, Zambia - The 10 Most Beautiful Waterfalls in Africa.
Another classic block-type waterfall, Lumangwe Falls so closely resembles Victoria Falls that it is often confused with the world-famous falls. It is the largest waterfall found wholly within Zambia, with a height of 115 feet and a width of 328 feet. Here, the Kalungwishi River falls in a wide veil, creating spray that rises some 328 feet in the air and sustains a small rainforest on the neighboring river banks. The waterfall is named for the Great Snake Spirit, Lumangwe, which local legend says stretches between the falls at Lumangwe and Kabweluma; and is most powerful at the end of the rainy season in April and May. To reach the falls, take the signposted detour off the main road from Kawambwa to Mporokoso. There are viewpoints at the summit and on the opposite bank, and a campsite for those that wish to spend the night there. .

Over 100 Waterfalls | By @Traveltainment from Zambia
IN THIS VIDEO
Did you know that the Southern Africa nation of Zambia has over 100 waterfalls? Zambia is known worldwide for having the largest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls. No other country that I know of has 100 waterfalls. Zambia is known to have more underground water than any other African nation. I would not be surprised that it leads the way to having the most waterfalls in Africa, or maybe even the world.

RICOMOTORICO - Episode 4 - Mbala to Samfya
My first three days in Zambia did not disappoint! My route lead me from Jungle to the Wetlands. I faced many technical issues, electrical wiring and a clogged up injector filter made me work night shifts to do the repairs. But the day time after made more than up for it. A big thank you to the beautiful people of Zambia with their kind hearts and uplifting spirits. Without their help, the deep Water crossings would not have been possible. Go Zambia!

Zambia | Chasing waterfalls - Lumangwe Falls, Kabwelume Falls, Ntumbachushi Falls
6th June 2021 I arrived Kawambwa famously known as good stop over for visiting this waterfalls if you aren't planning to return to the destination you came from the same day.
If you would rather spend more time at each waterfall then I suggest visiting only Lumangwe Falls and Kabwelume Falls or Ntumbachushi Falls. For me doing all 3 in one day was the perfect itinerary for my day in Kawambwa .
All 3 waterfalls differ in size and in character be sure to watch till the end and let me know in the comments which you is your number one from the 3.

Zambia - Beautiful, wild and rugged
Zambia is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful, friendly, diverse and unspoilt countries on the entire African continent. Aside from the majestic Victoria Falls, Zambia has more natural water resources than any other southern African country, including countless other falls dotted across the country, not to mention the famous Zambezi River.
The many National Parks, where walking safaris are a speciality, offer great opportunities for observing Africa’s superb bird and other wildlife, whilst bustling urban areas offer a taste of eclectic Zambian culture. Visit off season, when it is quiet, and you will enjoy superb birding.
