Ziua 18 - O fermă mixtă de elită și doi legumicultori din Matca, Galați. După 40 de ani petrecuți în agricultură Gavrilă Tuchiluș își vede visul împlinit. Are 5000 ha cultură mare, 1500 vaci Holstein, o sală de muls performantă 25x2 , animale cu genetică de top, un grajd modern care duce la nivel de excelență bunăstarea animalelor, furajare stabilită de nutrițoniști, angajați mulțumiți și o producție de lapte ce atinge o medie de 34 litri/ vaca mulsa. Laptele produs aici vede lumina zilei doar în paharul consumatorului, pentru că din ugerul vacii circula doar prin conducte pana in tancul de racire. De acolo este preluat de cisterna si dus in fabrica Cooperativa Agrolact Moldova din Sascut, unde se produce brandul de lactate Huzur. Valentin Nare și Adrian Rarinca lucrează fiecare 1,5 ha de legume - tomate, ardei, castraveti si vinete. La ei am mancat roșii cu atâta poftă, cum n-am mâncat niciodată. În sfârșit roșii cu gust, parfumate și un soi foarte aspectos. Am spus, nu am mai mancat de mult rosii atat de bune, iar raspunsul a fost n-ati mancat rosii de la Matca! Asa o fi! În solariile cu vinete se făcea recoltatul, așa că am dat o mână de ajutor. O experiență plăcută în cel mai mare bazin legumicol din țară.

Mănăstirea Brebu, ctitorită de domnitorul Matei Basarab în1650, cu biserică, casă domnească, chilii, incintă fortificată şi turn de poartă, a fost desăvârşită prin grija domnitorului Constantin Brâncoveanu în 1690. Biserica mănăstirii, care relua tipul bisericii Mănăstirii Dealu, şi-a pierdut, în urma cutremurului din 1802, cele trei turle de zid, care au fost înlocuite, în 1838 cu unele de lemn. Decorația exterioară, specifică bisericilor medievale din Țara Românească, definită de cele două registre de panouri şi brâu median subliniate prin ciubuce de zidărie este încununată de ancadramentele ușilor și ferestrelor, sculptate de meșterul Lupu ce a venit cu modele ale goticului târziu moldovenesc. Decorația înterioară a fost remaniată în 1843, iar pictura tâmplei și a altarului sunt opera lui Sava Henția, din anii 1901-1902. În 1863, odată cu secularizarea averilor mănăstirești, mănăstirea Brebu a fost desființată și reorganizată ca biserică de mir, pământurile și bunurile călugărilor trecând în patrimoniul Eforiei Spitelelor Civile. Casele domnești au fost transformate mai întâi în casă de vacanță pentru elevele de la azilul „Elena Doamna“, apoi în sanatoriu, preventoriu, între 1950 și 1957 în casă de bătrâni pentru ca, în 1959 să devină muzeu. În perioada 1955-1960 a avut loc cea mai mare campanie de restaurare și punere în valoare a ansamblului arhitectural, biserica a fost scoasă din cult și, împreună cu tot complexul, a fost transformată în muzeu de istorie și artă medievală. La 23 aprilie 1961 un incendiu de proporții a impus o nouă restaurare, finalizată în anul 1963, care a redat aspectul mănăstirii așa cum era în secolul al XVII-lea.
