Visiting a beautiful European corner is the dream of every person, but before making a choice, you can watch videos that are shot from a bird's eye view of a beautiful Dutch place - Drenthe, see through drone footage in 4k landscapes and natural attractions that can inspire travel .

general information
The provincial city of Drenthe in the Netherlands is located in the northeastern part, and partially borders with Germany. The region is distinguished not only by its geographical position, but also by the fact that it is in this area that many minerals are located, as well as natural gas is being extracted, mainly the local population is involved in this area.

Capital
The capital of the region is Assen, with a population of more than 64 thousand people, and successfully continues to develop in the industry (construction of dairies, rehabilitation medical centers). As for the tourist infrastructure, it attracts the area with ancient settlements, large heavy stones, boulders, and it is also here that one of the first racing tracks is located.

Nature (landscapes, beautiful places)
Nature richly rewarded this region with sights. Among the natural beauty, it is worth highlighting the national parks:
Dwingelderveld National Park - many reservoirs are located among sand boulders, as well as a habitat for rare snakes, and thanks to the quality care of the territory, the structure of fauna and flora is being renewed.
The Drents-Friese Wold National Park is located far from the mass tourist view, but once you get here, you can retire and be in silence. Among the sand dunes there are walking areas, campsites where tourists can relax and take a walk in untouched nature.

Principal cities: Assen, Emmen, Meppel, Coevorden
Assen is not the most touristic center, but in the autumn it becomes a bustling place with Latin American dance festivals, as well as many cycling competitions.
Emmen is a rather rural area in the Drenthe region, although it is a small provincial town, people love to live in it and develop it. There is no tourism potential in it, but the town hall, the market square are the main city attractions.
Meppel is the smallest of all cities in the region, but its most important asset is the port area through which important ships pass.
Coevorden is a southern province that just has tourism potential and attractions that are of interest to many visiting tourists.

What to see
Basically, Drenthe can be seen in a few days, since there are few places in the province that attract a vast mass of tourists. But, the most important part, which is worth taking time for, is the zoo, which also combines one of the largest amusement parks, home to many animals that enjoy a comfortable African climate.
Of course, it is worth it for car enthusiasts and speed lovers to go to Assen and visit the Grand Prix in motorcycle racing.
And for those people who want to get closer to nature, the ideal solution would be a trip to the Drenche AA valley.

Attractions
Among the places of interest in the region, it is worth highlighting:
Museum of Printing in Meppel, where you can learn about the history of printing, printing presses, as well as how books were printed.
Historical Museum of Drenthe - located in Assean and is a complete historical picture of the region, the industry, as well as the inhabitants who inhabit it.
Dwingelderveld is a national park, a natural attraction that has recently become popularized for tourists.
Hanebedsentrum is a museum of everyday life and society in Drenthe, which reveals information about the inhabitants among primitive things and attributes.

Drenthe- Dolmens, Hunebedden, Huge Prehistoric Gravesites & More

New Amsterdam Travel Video- Drenthe is a Dutch province in the northeast part of the Netherlands with a nice mix of culture, history and nature. It's most spectacular attractions are the 54 dolmens (hunebedden, in Dutch) which dot the countryside. Dolmens are huge, ancient stone burial grounds, that survived over 5,000 years. (They resemble mini- Stonehenges) Many are clustered around highway N34 but with the help of a map we biked to a few closer to our vacation house near Assen. In Assen, you can visit the Drenths Museum and in Emmen you cannot miss the amazing Wildlands Animal Park. There are also 3 national parks- perfect for hiking and biking; and a and unusual lake with a bright, aqua color.

Friesland, Netherlands | Leeuwarden city, Drachten, Harlingen | Drone 4k video | Friesland province

Friesland, Netherlands. This video review tells about a large province of the Netherlands. The video was shot with a drone so that viewers can enjoy the wild landscapes, endless meadows and forests of the surroundings and the buildings of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in the center from a bird's eye view, made in 4k resolution.

general information
The province of Friesland is located in the north of the Netherlands. Most of it is located on land, but it includes several West Frisian islands. Together with the water area, the province is the largest in the country. Agriculture makes a major contribution to the economy, but the influence of tourism is also growing every year.

Capital
The capital of the region is its largest city - Leeuwarden.

Climate
The climate of the province of Friesland is characterized as warm and temperate. The proximity to the sea causes a large amount of precipitation at any time of the year.

Nature
The nature of the province combines dunes, landscapes untouched by man, a large number of lakes and pine forests. In search of beautiful places, tourists embark on independent journeys through the region, exploring meadows, swamps and forests in peace and quiet. The most picturesque landscapes can be found, of course, in the De Kennermerdünen National Park, where, on an area of more than a thousand hectares, you can see not only the dune coast of the North Sea, but also meadows and forests with natural fauna.

Principal cities: Leeuwarden, Drachten, Harlingen
Leeuwarden is the capital city of the province. Its history began in the 15th century, thanks to the large Middelse River, it then became an important European trading center. However, in less than a century it dried up, bringing the city into decline. Since then, Leeuwarden has not stood out among other agricultural cities in the country. After the removal of the occupation of the German troops, the city gradually recovered, now it is methodically developing. Now, many Dutch and other Europeans come to the annual Domino Day to see world records in dominoes.
Drachten is an old small town in the province. However, it cannot be called a province, it is famous for its industry. Throughout Europe, he is also famous for his road experiment. At the beginning of the 21st century, the city authorities abandoned traffic lights and some signs in the city center. They explain this by the fact that the driver is more focused when he does not rely on strict traffic rules. No matter how strange it may sound, the number of accidents has decreased by 8 times.
Harlingen is an important seaport. It is logical that one of the important activities of the city are fishing and maintenance of ships. The harbor especially attracts tourists, because it offers picturesque views of both the sea and the town with its toy houses.

What to see
Above the docks of Harlingen rises the old lighthouse, already decommissioned. He illuminated the coast for 80 years. Tourists are attracted not only by its Art Deco features, but also by the hotel now located inside, with a panoramic observation deck.
There are several settlements in the Netherlands with no more than 1000 inhabitants. Despite this, they received the status of a city. Among them, Sloten, an old town, is of particular interest. On its territory there are several historical buildings, for example, a windmill dating back to the 18th century. A well-preserved belt of canals also flows through it.
On the northern coast of the province, you can enjoy seascapes on the shores of the Wadden Sea. It is especially interesting to go to one of the inhabited islands located near the coast.
In the city of Franeker, the Eise Eising Planetarium deserves attention. In the operating greenhouse, located on top of a building in the city center, the movement of the celestial bodies of the solar system is reproduced. Its creation dates back to the end of the 18th century.

Attractions
The Casematten Museum will attract lovers of military history. The Afsluitdijk Dam was built to control the water level in the country. It was later improved with modern equipment and forts. Some of them became the basis for the museum.
There are a decent number of architectural monuments in the capital: the building of the former office, the leaning tower of Oldekhove and the Chamber of Weights. Lovers of holy places will be attracted by the church of St. Boniface.
In Leeuwarden, the building of the Central Pharmacy stands out among the medieval and renaissance buildings. It was built in the heyday of Art Nouveau, and a portrait of Hygena, the Greek goddess of medicine, became its decoration.

Dwingelderveld National Park- Winter Light & Morning Mist

New Amsterdam Travel Video- Dwingelderveld is a Dutch national park, located in the northern province of Drenthe in the Netherlands. It is known to have one of the biggest, unbroken, wet heather fields in all of Europe. In Fall and Winter, the low angle light and morning mist dramatically illuminate the already amazing landscape of fields, forests, lakes and ponds. There is plenty to explore either on foot or on bike.

What to expect of tranquil DRENTHE - The Netherlands

The province of Drenthe in The Netherlands is loved for its untouched nature, beauty and tranquillity. The tens of kilometres of walking trails and bike paths lead through open landscapes, peat bogs, moors, forests and more. The purple heather can be admired from late July to early September. The tulips bloom from end of March to mid-May.

I highly recommend Dwingelderveld National Park (the largest continuous wet heathland area in Western Europe) and also Transit Camp Westerbork. Over 100,000 Jews, Sinti and Roma were deported from this camp during WWII. The camp grounds are freely accessible and a few original structures still remain.
