Marbach am Neckar is a city in the Ludwigsburg district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The city (Stadt) of Marbach am Neckar covers 18.06 square kilometers (6.97 sq mi) of the district of Ludwigsburg in a total of four separate exclaves. Marbach is, according to government urban planning, part of the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region. 【Marbach am Neckar①ドイツ】🇩🇪Walking in Marbach am Neckar Germany / Day Trip from Stuttgart
We visited Marbach am Neckar, located about 20km north of Stuttgart, about 30min by S-Bahn from Stuttgart central station.This town is known as the birthplace of the German poet Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller. There are also many historical buildings and cute wooden houses that are typical of Germany, so there is a lot to see.
There is also a bike path, so if the weather is nice, cycling is a great way to visit :)

Marbach Christmas Market, Germany virtual tour 4K Marbach am Neckar
Today we will visit Marbach am Neckar. I really love this small state. located in Baden-Wurttemberg. It has very beautiful old city (Altstadt).During this second advent weekend the city of Marbach has the Christmas Festival, and I decided to go there to show it to you.
First impression was.... well... it was false. Staying there a bit longer despite of the rain I felt the spirit of Christmas - nobody is trying to sell you useless souvenirs, people are just enjoying time eating sausages, drinking mulled wine and talking to each other. Everyone was smiling and wishing merry Christmas to people around.So this is the market, where Christmas is alive and you, probably, will never get such feeling there, where the goal is to earn money.
Video is very small compared to other Christmas Markets, but keep in mind - this is a small local one and I tried to capture every single moment of it.
Hope you will like it.
Marbach is connected to Stuttgart with S4 S-Bahn line with around 25 minutes of travel time.
If you come by car - several public parking lots are available nearby.

A Hike in Esslingen and the vineyards of this medieval city. [visit Esslingen, a must-go in Germany]
The walk through Esslingens vineyards is amazing. You are able to see Esslingen themedival city with its ,half-timbered houses next to the Neckar river from above.
Esslingen is defenatly a place to see and visit in Germany. It wasn't destroyed in the second world war and still looks really great. I myself was stunned how beautiful it is. The city is not far from Stuttgart and is worth the visit and should be considered when staying in Stuttgart, the Train does take you there quickly.
The hike above the city is about 7 miles long, and you can visit vineyards and have a local vine. The views over the city of Esslingen and the city of Stuttgart are beautiful and if you decide to have an even bigger walk you can visit the Grabchappel , this is a famous point to visit, but it will make your hike a lot longer.

Friedrich Schiller - geboren am 10. November 1759 in Marbach am Neckar - ihm zu Ehren gibt es in seiner Geburtstadt Marbach am Neckar die sogenannte Schillerhöhe.Die Schillerhöhe ist ein Park- und Museenareal unweit des Zentrums der sehenswerten Stadt Marbach am Neckar mit ihren heimeligen Gassen mit schnuckeligen Fachwerkshäusern.
Imposant ist das Denkmal des deutschen Dichters zentral im Park der Schillerhöhe. Umrahmt wird es duch das Deutsche Literaturarchiv, dem Schiller-Nationalmuseum und dem Literaturmuseum der Moderne.

PS - I visited each of these using public transportation (train/bus), but it would be a lot easier and more efficient with a car. Rent a car if you can!

Das Schiller-Nationalmuseum in Marbach
Das Schiller-Nationalmuseum ist neben dem Literaturmuseum der Moderne Teil der Literaturmuseen des Deutschen Literaturarchivs Marbach. Es wurde 1903 auf der Schillerhöhe in Marbach am Neckar als Schiller-Archiv und -Museum eröffnet. Es war seit 1895 als Gedenkstätte für den in Marbach geborenen Friedrich Schiller und andere Dichter aus Schwaben vorgesehen und wurde ab 1901 nach den Plänen der Stuttgarter Architekten Ludwig Eisenlohr und Carl Weigle erbaut. 1922 erhielt es den heutigen Namen.1955 wurde im Schiller-Nationalmuseum das Deutsche Literaturarchiv gegründet, u. a. auch, um der exilierten deutschen Literatur zwischen 1933 und 1945 einen zentralen Ort der Erhaltung und Bewahrung zu geben. Seitdem erstreckt sich das Sammelgebiet des Archivs auf die gesamte deutsche Literatur von der Aufklärung bis zur unmittelbaren Gegenwart.
Das Schiller-Nationalmuseum bildet zusammen mit dem Deutschen Literaturarchiv die einheitliche Institution Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach.
Zum 250. Geburtstag von Friedrich Schiller wurde das Museum am 10. November 2009 von Bundespräsident Horst Köhler wiedereröffnet, das für mehr als sechs Millionen Euro saniert wurde. Im Mittelpunkt der neuen Dauerausstellung stehen Leben und Werk Schillers sowie die deutsche Literatur des 18. und 19. Jahrhunderts.
Die in der deutschen Museums- und Forschungslandschaft einzigartige Institution Schiller-Nationalmuseum und Deutsches Literaturarchiv wird zwar vom Bund und vom Land Baden-Württemberg wesentlich gefördert, jedoch getragen vom Bürgerverein Deutsche Schillergesellschaft e. V. Diese ging 1947 aus dem 1895 gegründeten Schwäbischen Schillerverein hervor, der es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hatte, Lebenszeugnisse und Handschriften von Dichtern zu sammeln und auszustellen.
Museum und Archiv verfolgen gemeinsam das Ziel, Texte, Dokumente und Lebenszeugnisse der neueren deutschen Literatur zu sammeln, zu ordnen und für die Forschung bereitzustellen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Forschungs- und Erschließungsarbeiten werden im Museum durch Ausstellungen und Kataloge, im Archiv durch wissenschaftliche Veröffentlichungen und Lese- und Studienausgaben etc. zugänglich gemacht. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Nachlässe bedeutender Schriftsteller und Gelehrter sowie die Archive von Institutionen und Unternehmen, darunter als wichtigstes Verlagsarchiv des 19. Jahrhunderts das der Cotta’schen Verlagsbuchhandlung.

It is even more beautiful in Summer, unfortunately some renovation is going on there. Plus the view from Schiller Museum is not that great due to greenery.
