Local Market & Sunset Boat Rides | Malawi Travel Vlog
Local markets are the best! I needed to stock up on some food so in this travel vlog we are taking a visit to the local market in Cape Maclear, Malawi. It is a small market, but I ended up getting a pretty good haul! I will show you everything I got. After we finished at the market we went on a sunset boat cruise around Thumbi island, where we got to feed fish to wild eagles. It was amazing! I have never seen so many wild eagles at one time, in my life. What an unforgettable treat!

This is definitely Zanzibar like you have never seen it. Nungwi and Kendwa are top tourist destinations that are always full of tourists. I was one of the first tourists to visit Zanzibar after the flights resumed to Tanzania. This time, there was no one, in the beginning I didn't even see many locals around. It was very surreal. Even 11 years ago when I first visited and there was way less infrastructure, it was never like this. With the global lockdowns it was to be expected. Still though, I could barely believe my eyes. An experience I will never forget.

A River In The African Wilderness | Botswana Travel Vlog
Today's adventure was a an epic 4 hour canoe trip down the Nata River from a town called Maposa in Botswana. A place that keeps on surprising me with it's charms. There are hippos in this river, so that added another aspect to it. This trip did not disappoint.

Explore the mysteries of beautiful Zambia, which, in addition to the famous Victoria Falls, also offers vast wetlands on the Zambezi River. Our experience of Maramba River Lodge was very peaceful and relaxing with the most widespread shading of trees. The sunsets and sunrise at the edge of the Maramba river is amazing and mesmerizes you and generate an impressive memory that will last and stay with you for years to come. The Republic of Zambia is a landlocked country at the crossroads of Central, Southern and East Africa, although it is typically referred to as being in Southern Africa at its most central point. Its neighbors are the DRC and Tanzania (to the north), Malawi (to the east), Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Botswana (to the south), Namibia (to the southwest), and Angola (to the west). Originally inhabited by Khoisan people. Zambia is home to the near-blind species of Ansell’s mole-rats which can sense magnetic fields with their eyes according to a recent study. Zambia’s name derives from the Zambezi River, which flows through the western part of the country and forms its southern border with Zimbabwe. On the Zambezi River lies the Barotse Floodplain, which is home to around ¼ million people. Livingstone is a city in south Zambia and until 1929, it served as the capital city of Zambia. A historic British colonial city was named after David Livingstone, the Scottish explorer and missionary who was the first European to explore the area. Zambia boasts with 20 national parks and reserves, and it has over, 34 Game Management Areas and protects over 30% of its land. Scottish explorer David Livingstone spotted them and named them after his queen, the falls were given their name by the local Lozi tribe. They call them Mosi-oa-Tunya, which translates as “Smoke that Thunders”. Anyone who sees the thundering water, with the mist rising tens of meters high, will understand that the original name best describes this wonder. Nothing prepares you for your first sight of the Zambezi River in full flood thundering over the drop – 500-million liters of water per minute crashing into a deep rocky gorge.

You can't be in Stone Town, on the island of Zanzibar and not do the boat trip to Prison Island. Especially when there is virtually no other tourists to be found, which was actually a little eery. It is only a short 20 minute boat ride, you get experience the tortoises up close and personal, and then take a walk around where the old prison once was. A small island with big history. Plus I got to finish the trip off with a little swim and a snorkel.
