Mangalia, also known as Callatis in antiquity, is a Romanian city and harbour located in Constanta County, Northern Dobruja, on the Black Sea coast. The municipality of Mangalia also administers several summertime seaside resorts: Cap Aurora, Jupiter, Neptun, Olimp, Saturn, and Venus. Mangalia retains its natural beauty of yesteryear and stands out through its various leisure opportunities. In continuous development, but at the same time clean and chic, this wonderful place on the Romanian coast has successfully acquired the attribute of a spa resort. Besides the sulphurous mesothermal springs, Mangalia also boasts that it is the only area in the country where the average temperature remains positive, +1.1 degrees Celsius, the spring here being earlier and the autumn much longer.

Mangalia (la 44 km de Constanţa), staţiune balneoclimaterică permanentă. Este o aşezare de aceeaşi vârstă cu Tomisul, colonia antică purtând numele de Callatis (de la râul Calles din Asia Mică). A fost întemeiată de greci în sec.VI i.Hr. şi dezvoltată apoi de romani (sec. II-IV d.Hr) şi revitalizată de genovezi (sec. XIII-XIV) care o numesc Pangalia. Mangalia, cea mai sudică staţiune de pe litoralul Mării Negre, are o climă dulce, asemănătoare cu cea mediteraneană, ceea ce face ca primăvara să sosească mai devreme, iar toamna să întârzie aici mai mult.
Mangalia (44 km from Constanța), permanent spa resort. It is a settlement of the same age as Tomis, the ancient colony named Callatis (from the Calles river in Asia Minor). It was founded by the Greeks in the 6th century BC. and then developed by the Romans (2nd-4th centuries AD) and revitalized by the Genoese (13th-14th centuries) who call it Pangalia. Mangalia, the southernmost resort on the Black Sea coast, has a mild climate, similar to the Mediterranean, which means that spring arrives earlier and autumn is delayed here.

Mangalia Marina is a harbour for yachts and small boats(up to 18 m long) located on the Black Sea coast. It is the most modern tourist harbour in Romania
PORTUL TURISTIC Mangalia este cel mai modern port romanesc destinat navelor turistice de dimensiuni mici care navigheaza de-a lungul litoralului Marii Negre. In Portul Turistic Mangalia pot poposi pana la 146 de ambarcatiuni care beneficiaza de spatii moderne de acostare si intretinere.
A fost construit in perioada anilor 2006 – 2008 si este cel mai modern port turistic din Romania, reprezentand un punct de plecare spre majoritatea statiunilor de pe litoralul romanesc, spre orasul Constanta si Delta Dunarii, dar si spre destinatii mai indeparate cum ar fi Varna (Bulgaria), Istanbul (Turcia) sau orasele Odessa si Yalta (Ucraina). Turistii au posibilitatea sa faca plimbari sau scurte croaziere in largul Marii Negre, pot admira frumoasele iahturi si corabiile cu panze de altadata, se pot plimba pe faleza, pot practica sporturi nautice si au ocazia sa descopere o colonie de lebede.
Turistii pot vizita si Farul „genovez” Mangalia, construit in perioada anilor 1858 – 1860. Fiind reabilitat in 1998, farul din capatul digului este considerat un simbol al orasului. In urma modificarilor pe care le-a suferit de-a lungul anilor, Farul din Mangalia nu are statut de monument istoric, dar poate fi considerat un obiectiv turistic cu o poveste foarte putin stiuta atat de localnici, cat si de turisti. Farul era la inceputuri cea mai inalta constructie a orasului, oferind vizibilitate pana la aproximativ 40 de kilometri. Vizitatorii vor gasi aici numeroase curiozitati, iar una dintre acestea este faptul ca Farul are un ceas solar cu cadranul gradat pentru orele zilei, unic in tara noastra.
