Tahiti Lagoon Tour & Papeete | Turtle, Dolphins, Rays and Wrecks! | French Polynesia
We took a lagoon tour around Tahiti with no idea how much wildlife is in this little area between Tahiti and Moorea. We saw a sea turtle, a ton of dolphins, a stingray, a spotted eagle ray and had amazing overwater views of a shipwreck and a plane wreck! We then saw the capital, Papeete from the marina and took a short walk around the town. We were thrilled with all of the wildlife we were able to see on this boat trip. Thanks to Benoit, our captain, we had a fabulous time and cannot recommend him more!

Tahiti travel tips: Exploring Fautaua Waterfall (Cascade de Fautaua)
Fautaua Waterfall, Tahiti, French Polynesia - the tallest waterfall of Cascade de Fachoda (the Fautaua Waterfall). Let's travel to the island of Tahiti in the Pacific Ocean and then visit the Cascade de Fachoda (or the Fautaua Waterfall) which has to be the most spectacular waterfalls I’ve been fortunate enough to see in Tahiti. Fautaua waterfall has one of those classically tall freefalls and it is also backed by sharp mountains attesting to the advanced erosion that the islands of French Polynesia exhibit.
Cascade de Fachoda (or the Fautaua Waterfall) in Tahiti is said to be 180ft tall (there are exaggerated claims that it’s over 300m or 1000ft tall, or that it’s one of the highest waterfalls in the world, not true). There are two ways to experience this waterfall in Tahiti – a lower approach and an upper approach. Since the upper approach is very tricky, slippery and dangerous, we will be happy to view the waterfall from the bottom below.
