Mauritius is really a mini India because we got an opportunity to take part in Hare Krishna Waterfront Festival, it was such a surreal experience. Beaches of Mauritius are world class and you will fall in love with the crystal clear blue water and amazing white sand beaches of Mahebourg and Bel Ombre.

- Take you to Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark where you can see the most iconic thing in entire Mauritius. This is a must visit place because you can see this rare natural and cultural phenomenon. And will also show you Chamarel waterfall which is the best waterfall in Mauritius.

This is Day 1 in Mauritius, a small island nation in the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa and Madagascar. Today we’ll be exploring the delicious Mauritian street food and markets in Mahébourg town.

A huge thank you to Julien de Robillard, Food Tour Mauritius ( who took me around on this awesome introduction to Mauritian street food.

Here’s everything we did:

Mevin Catering - This place at the market serves amazing local Mauritian food in sandwich form. Price - 70 MUR ($1.51) per sandwich

Chez Soubiraj - For drinks, and the Mauritian version of faluda, make sure you try Chez Soubiraj.

Shyam Bhugoo Dholl Puri - One of the greatest of all Mauritian street foods is dholl puri. Price - 20 MUR ($0.43) per dholl puri

Coin Casse Croute - Next up on this Mauritian street food tour we ate classic Mauritius food including a variety of noodles and rice dishes all topped with seafood. Price - 1,500 MUR ($32.31) for everything

Boulettes - Known as Mauritian Dim Sum, Boulettes are a combination of dumplings served in soup with Chinese origin. Price - 90 MUR ($1.94) per bowl

SAYING GOODBYE TO MAURITIUS (Best Things To Do Around Mahebourg) - Mauritius Road Trip Ep. 9

It’s our last day on Mauritius and we’re sad to leave! In this video we make the most of our last day and explore the best things to do around Mahebourg. Mahebourg is a town on the east coast of Mauritius, which is the least visited side of the island. Before driving to Mahebourg we spent some time in a resort in Quatre Cocos, as you can find some good deals in this area. We then check in to our guesthouse in Mahebourg, try manioc biscuits that are famous on Mauritius, head to a restaurant that is supposed to serve the best Biryani on Mauritius (it is delicious) and then drive to Blue Bay for a great spontaneous snorkelling trip. This was the perfect way to end our Mauritius road trip and we hope you enjoyed coming along!

We head out to the regatta, a traditional boat race in Mahebourg Mauritius. They race the famous pirogue boats with huge sails, I'm still not sure how they didn't fall over. The regatta is a huge event and they also had traditional foods, loads of bands, and hundreds of market stalls, as it is only once a year, I suggest you make plans to visit the next one in December 2023.
