Unbelievable Underground Wonder in California! Forestiere Underground Gardens in Fresno #shorts

In the Central Valley, a staggering, unseen network of subterranean tunnels, chambers, and grottos meanders for some 10 acres, hidden just beneath the surface. Fresno’s Forestiere Underground Gardens is the handiwork of Sicilian immigrant Baldassare Forestiere. From 1906 to 1946, the visionary builder, using only shovels, picks, and other hand tools, created this compound, allegedly as a cool subterranean retreat from the region’s summer temperatures.

This underground world of gardens, fruit trees, and courtyards is available to tour most of the year. Learn more:

Discount Land in Kentucky | Hunter's Dream Bordering State Forest w/Paved Rd + Utilities | 52 acres

Discount Land In Kentucky | Eastern Kentucky Land For Sale | Cheap Hunting & Residential Land in Harlan County, Kentucky | Property Borders Kentenia State Forest Public Land Hunting

Hunting properties that border government forest land are highly sought-after across America, and very few of those properties also have power, water, and paved access available. This one of those very few! After this land was granted as an award for meritorious service during the Civil War, it stayed in that family until just recently, so it’s safe to say that this property is hitting the open market for the first time in history. Hunting land that checks all the boxes like this one — borders gov’t forest, paved access, utilities, river proximity — sells extremely fast. Don’t miss out!

- No Restrictions
- Priced about 50% below market
- Very Low Taxes (only $89 in 2020)
- Power & Water Available
- Paved Access
- Right across Highway from Poor Fork Cumberland River
- Borders Kentenia State Forest

PROPERTY: This wooded, mountainous, and “L” shaped 52 acre parcel offers something special for a premium hunting tract — over 200 feet of paved road frontage, which is provided by Highway 522. The property is undeveloped but a dirt driveway has been carved into the lot in switchback-style from the road. Bordering the north property lines is the Kentenia State Forest, a tax-exempt government space rich in deer and wildlife. It’s not just for hunting and recreation though — you can live here too, since power and water runs along the road frontage. Live here however you want, in fact, because there are no restrictions! You may want to build close to the road like the neighbors have done, or even up on one of the ridges above in order to take advantage of breathtaking views of the Poor Fork Cumberland River valley below. The river is less than 500 feet from the property line, across the highway, and is a quality source of bass and catfish. “Own a mountain, fish a stream, live the dream.” The city of Harlan is just 10 minutes down the road and offers an excellent mix of stores, restaurants, and services, including a Walmart.

Camp Madera Canyon in the Mountains! Boondock, Campround, Cabins or Day Trip Near Tucson, Arizona

Madera Canyon is only 40 miles south of Tucson, Arizona but feels a world away from the desert below. Large trees shade a clear, babbling brook runs the length of the canyon. Nature trails wind into the hills and more challenging hiking trails climb up mountain peaks. The tallest is Mt. Wrightson at 9,450 ft. in elevation. As you enter the park, Proctor Rd Dispersed Camping area is to the right and the camp sites (5,000 ft. elevation) overlook the valley below. Camp among the cows in this open range. Beware of the cow pies! The road is very rough but most vehicles should be able to slowly navigate it. If roughing it isn't your style, book ahead to reserve the campground. Amenities include water but not electric. An assortment of cute cabin rentals line the road in one part of the park. Throughout the park are lots of picnic tables and day use areas. In this video, we'll give you a dose of each type of lodging. We prefer dispersed camping whenever possible. Enjoy! ~ Trisha Selgrath and Randy

Great Falls Park is a small National Park Service (NPS) site in Virginia, United States. Situated on 800 acres (3.2 km2) along the banks of the Potomac River in northern Fairfax County, the park is a disconnected but integral part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway.

The Great Falls of the Potomac River are near the northern boundary of the park, as are the remains of the Patowmack Canal, the first canal in the United States that used locks to raise and lower boats.

There is a $20 entrance fee per car for visitors who drive into the park. The park is open only during daylight hours. The park has several viewing platforms that provide visitors with vantage points overlooking the falls. The NPS operates a visitor center near the falls.

Fifteen miles (24 km) of hiking trails traverse the park and follow a small stream known as Difficult Run. A scenic trail near the river travels upstream from a landing at the mouth of Difficult Run, climbs to the top of Mather Gorge and passes the falls, a dam, and a reservoir before ending in Fairfax County's Riverbend Park.

Rock climbers frequent the cliffs in Mather Gorge above the Potomac. The park contains a large picnic area and sufficient parking for 600 vehicles. On busy weekends all the parking may fill up by early in the morning, creating delays and temporary closures lasting up to several hours. The NPS does not permit camping in the park.

Eerie road trip through Texas's alien landscape

On the way we have a picnic, and then enter the Sierra Madera Astrobleme, where something smashed into the Earth long ago. | USA tourist attractions | Yosemite National Park |

Yosemite National Park (/joʊˈsɛmɪti/ yoh-SEM-ih-tee) is an American national park in California, surrounded on the southeast by Sierra National Forest and on the northwest by Stanislaus National Forest. The park is managed by the National Park Service and covers an area of 759,620 acres (1,187 sq mi; 3,074 km2) and sits in four counties – centered in Tuolumne and Mariposa, extending north and east to Mono and south to Madera County. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, Yosemite is internationally recognized for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant sequoia groves, lakes, mountains, meadows, glaciers, and biological diversity. Almost 95 percent of the park is designated wilderness. Yosemite is one of the largest and least fragmented habitat blocks in the Sierra Nevada, and the park supports a diversity of plants and animals.

The geology of the Yosemite area is characterized by granite rocks and remnants of older rock. About 10 million years ago, the Sierra Nevada was uplifted and tilted to form its unique slopes, which increased the steepness of stream and river beds, resulting in the formation of deep, narrow canyons. About one million years ago glaciers formed at higher elevations which eventually melted and moved downslope, cutting and sculpting the U-shaped valley that attracts so many visitors to its scenic vistas.

European American settlers first entered Yosemite Valley itself in 1851. There are earlier instances of other travelers entering the Valley but James D. Savage is credited with discovering the area that became Yosemite National Park. Despite Savage and other white men claiming their discovery of Yosemite, the region and Valley itself has been inhabited for nearly 4,000 years, although humans may have visited the area as long as 8,000 to 10,000 years ago.

Yosemite was critical to the development of the national park idea. Galen Clark and others lobbied to protect Yosemite Valley from development, ultimately leading to President Abraham Lincoln signing the Yosemite Grant of 1864 which declared Yosemite as federally preserved land. It was not until 1890 when John Muir led a successful movement which had Congress establish Yosemite Valley and its surrounding areas as a National Park. This helped pave the way for the National Park System. Yosemite draws about four million visitors each year, and most visitors spend the majority of their time in the seven square miles (18 km2) of Yosemite Valley. The park set a visitation record in 2016, surpassing five million visitors for the first time in its history. The park began requiring reservations to access the park during peak periods starting in 2020 as a response to the rise in visitors.
