If Uganda wasn't on your radar as a place to visit in Africa, it will be soon because this country is Africa's most underrated safari destination. Home to the big 5 and the largest concentration of primates on earth. Here you can see gorillas, chimpanzees, golden monkeys, all the big predators and even float down the Nile which happens to start in Uganda's Lake Victoria.

I spent 12 days cruising, driving and exploring this marvelous country and here are all the details.

Thanks to our Sun Africa Expeditions for helping us facilitate our safari and stays throughout Uganda.

Hike Rwenzori Mountains. Margherita Peak. Uganda Tourism Board and UNDP 2021 #VisitUganda

In 2020, a team of Ugandans, led by Uganda Tourism Board CEO Lilly Ajarova and champion kick-boxer Golola Moses embarked on an epic adventure: to spend a week climbing to the snow-covered glacier of Margherita Peak, the highest peak in the country's Rwenzori Mountains.

Read the full story on Diary of a Muzungu | Uganda and East Africa travel blog.

Here's the video transcript:

Welcome to one of Africa's highest, most remote and unknown mountain ranges, located in Uganda the Pearl of Africa.

The Rwenzori Mountains - also known as the Mountains of the Moon - are stretched over 120 km long and 61 km wide.

Come and experience Africa's most beautiful Alpine area. With every hour and every altitude gain, the landscapes, colours and views are ever-changing.

This UNESCO-protected National Park contains unique biodiversity and breathtaking scenery such as bamboo zones, mossy heather zones, numerous waterfalls, tropical rainforest, mountain lakes and eternal snow.

Culminating at an altitude of 5109 metres, Margherita Peak is the highest point in Uganda and the third highest peak of the whole African continent after Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. This mystical mountain range is located in the foothills of Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Africa's most popular game drives, and a few hundred kilometres from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the endangered Silverback Mountain Gorillas.

The Rwenzori Mountains offer trails for all levels of hikers which range from one day to 10 day trips. Shorter trips are not as physically demanding and showcase amazing beauty in the art of nature including rare vegetation, rivers and numerous waterfalls.

This unique biosphere is a true gem that needs to be preserved not only for its many endemic species but for the local community that directly benefits and lives from the mountain range's gifts.

Be ready for the ultimate trekking experience. Come and discover Rwenzori, the Mountains of the Moon, located in Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Where are the hot springs in Tanzania ? [In Kikuletwa - at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro !]

Where are the hot springs in Tanzania ? In Kikuletwa - at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro !

I am doing a bikesafari with Hillary,my tanzanian friend I stayed with about two weeks.
Hillary is the owner of a bikeshop in Moshi,Tanzania and organizing fabulous mountainbike tours in Moshi and in the region of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Just check out his website or his Instagram @onebiketz and get a 10 % discount on all his (mountain)bike tours - just tell him the codeword : WilliamTravelFrequently !

In this video we are on our way to the hot springs of Kikuletwa.
The hot springs of Kikuletwa, also known as Chemka Hot Springs, are close to the village of Rundugai and are one of the most beautiful places in Tanzania to relax. The small pond is surrounded by palm and fig trees with winding roots. In the morning, Blue Monkeys can often be observed in the trees, whilst the crystal clear, turquoise water invites you to a refreshing bath. Although they are called hot springs, the water in Kikuletwa is not truly ‘hot’ but refreshing, as the water source is fed by Kilimanjaro itself.

Uganda 2-hour canoe tour on Lake Mutanda with Acacia Safaris - Unravel Travel TV

Unravel Travel TV touring Uganda with Acacia Safaris experienced a 2-hour canoe tour on Lake Mutanda.

Lake Mutanda is located in Kisoro District in southwestern Uganda, approximately 20 kilometers north of the town of Kisoro. Approximately 454 kilometers by road, southwest of Kampala, Uganda's capital and largest city.

Lake Mutanda is nestled in the foothills of the Virunga Mountain Range at an altitude of 1,800 meters (5,900 ft). The three volcanoes within the range that are partly located in Uganda, namely: Mount Muhabura, Mount Sabinyo, and Mount Gahinga, can be viewed from Lake Mutanda. There are several islands in the lake. The lake is drained by the Rutshuru River, which flows northward to Lake Edward. Flora and fauna

The countryside around the lake includes forests and wetland habitats that provide a haven for the endangered mountain gorilla. In addition to the mountain gorilla and golden monkey in the nearby Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The lakeside bird species include kingfisher, kites, ibis, and Uganda's national bird, the crested crane. Weaver bird nests are a common site among the reeds along the lake shore.

4K | Ultimate African Safari and Gorilla Trek in Uganda

In 2018 I went on a safari trip in Uganda, the landlocked African country at the equator.
The journey started in Entebbe at Lake Vicoria and continued to Queen Elisabeth National Park with the broad Kazinga channel and the tree-dwelling lions. In the rain forest of the Kibale National Park I watched the chimpanzees in the tree tops. The highlight of the journey was the Mountain Gorilla trekking in the heart of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park next to the volcanoes of Virunga.
Further stops were at Lake Bunyonyi (world's fourth deepest lake), Lake Mburo National Park and the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre in Entebbe.
In the video you can see the notorious big five animals (lion, buffalo, rhino, elephant and leopard) in their natural habitat.

A special thanks goes to Mamaland Safaris:

Roadtrip Africa - Uganda's Finest

Enjoy this recap from Hannah & Ferdi, our colleagues at Roadtrip Africa. They did a 15-day self-drive round trip in Uganda and followed one of our suggested routes, 'Uganda's Finest'.

In this video, you'll get to see how beautiful and diverse Uganda is.

They started from the vibrant capital Kampala- first stop was mountain biking among the zebras in Lake Mburo - then gorilla trekking in Bwindi - on safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park - chimp trekking in Kibale Forest - on safari in Murchison Falls - and rhino trekking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

African safari for Adrenaline Junkies on their zip lining and tubing on the Nile.

While planning an #African safari, zip lining and tubing should be on your list. The zip lining in Mabira is fun, then tubing on the Nile can be flat water or white water. In this video it was flat water and you can see the fun. We make sure that you get memorable Luxury African Safari
