Protected by the Chaîne tower and the Saint-Nicolas tower, the old port has inspired numerous artists. After a walk on the quays, the visitor is invited to go along the beautiful narrow streets of the old town. The beautiful city of La Rochelle, France
La Rochelle is a beautiful French city on the Atlantic Coast in the Bay of Biscay. It was founded in the 10th century and became an important shipping port in the 12th Century when it was under English rule due to Eleanor of Aquitaine marrying King Henry II. It wasn't until 1224 that Louise VIII took it back in the 'Siege of la Rochelle'. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it. In october 2021 we spent our honeymoon in France. On a little tour de france we visited Nantes, La Rochelle, St. Martin de Ré, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Caracassonne and Provence. We travelled mostly by train and rented a car between Bordeaux and Provence.
