Laikipia County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya, located on the Equator in the former Rift Valley Province of the country. Laikipia is a cosmopolitan county and is county number 31. The county has two major urban centres: Nanyuki to the southeast, and Nyahururu to the southwest. Its capital is Rumuruti.[2] The County lies between latitudes 0° 18” South and 0° 51” North and between longitude 36° 11” and 37° 24’ East. It borders Samburu County to the North, Isiolo County to the North East, Meru County to the East, Nyeri County to the South East, Nyandarua County to the South, Nakuru County to the South West and Baringo County to the West.[3]
Economic activity in the county consists mainly of tourism and agriculture, chiefly grain crops, ranching and greenhouse horticulture.

TIPS FOR VISITING TURKANA, KENYA
In this Turkana Travel Vlog, I share some essential tips to know before visiting Turkana where I recently visited with the Kenya Tourism Board. Some of the things featured include Lodwar, Turkana Boy, Lake Turkana, Central Island, Eliye Springs, fishing villages in Kolkol, West Pokot, our lady of mercy statue and more.
That EPIC Trip that NOBODY TALKS ABOUT - Lake Turkana West & Eliye Springs? Part 1
For a while, we have mulled over the idea of visiting and documenting the vast North-West Kenya region comprising the North Rift, West Pokot and Turkana. The North-West Kenya region is a paradox. It's pretty well known BUT for the wrong reasons of cattle rustling and banditry yet also very little known. It's also quite misunderstood. It packs quite a punch in terms of attractions.
This 5 days trip was meant to reveal its attractions. But we barely scratched the surface. We will back again and again to take you to many attractions in North West Kenya.
In this trip, we visited Lake Bogoria, Tugen Hills, Rimoi National Reserve, Kerio Valley, Kerio Escarpment, Cherangany Hills, famous Marich Pass, Turkwel Dam, famous Lokichar, Lodwar and Eliye Springs on the western banks of Lake Turkana.
Watch out for Parts, 2, 3 and 4 in the course of the year.

Our crew of 13 to Lodwar, Turkana County for a live shoot the next day but missed our flight. the Live shoot was to start at 10am the following morning. What resulted was a race against time. The journey was 690kms of rough road and bad challenging weather.
