Gelderland 5K - Netherland
The province of Gelderland lies in the east of the centre of the Netherlands. In terms of area (5,137 km2) it is the largest of the twelve provinces of the Netherlands. Gelderland’s 51 municipalities are home to 2 million inhabitants.
The region has a varied landscape with forests, large rivers and rural areas. You will also find modern urban hubs such as Arnhem, Nijmegen and Wageningen with international secondary schools and universities supporting the knowledge-based economy.

There are many castles in the Netherlands. In the province of Gelderland you will find nearly two hundred castles or caste-like estates.
I have visited six of them on one day (all near my hometown).
You can walk around most of the castles and some you can visit.
The first three (doorwerth, rosendael and vorden) are open to the public. The other ones (Hackfort, Ampsen and Wildenborch are private).

N346 Diepenheim - Lochem - Warken - Warnsveld - Zutphen (NL)
The N346 is a 46-kilometre long provincial road in the east of the Netherlands, partly located in the province of Overijssel (Twente region) and partly in the province of Gelderland (Achterhoek region). The N346 forms an important link from Hengelo via Goor and Lochem to Zutphen, one of the larger cities in the Netherlands without a direct connection to a motorway. Over its entire length, the N346 is about 5 to 10 kilometers south of the A1 motorway (Amsterdam - Osnabrück). Until the opening of the A1 in 1980, the N346 was the main route.
This video starts where the previous video ended: at the provincial border between Overijssel and Gelderland. We continue west through an open landscape and reach the city of Lochem. Here the N346 runs through the built-up area. At the time of posting this video (August 2023), a lot of work is being done on the construction of a new bridge over the Twente Canal northeast of Lochem and on adjusting the road between the N825 to Borculo and the N322 towards Raalte. In this video you will see the old situation.
West of Lochem, the N346 lies in a vast forest area. The forest ends near the hamlet of Warken and we drive briefly through an open landscape until we reach the village of Warnsveld, a suburb of the neighboring city of Zutphen.
The video ends in Zutphen, an old Hanseatic city with about 40,000 inhabitants.

De N346 is een 46 kilometer lange provinciale weg in het oosten van Nederland, deels gelegen in de provincie Overijssel (regio Twente) en deels gelegen in de provincie Gelderland (regio Achterhoek). De N346 vormt een belangrijke schakel van Hengelo via Goor en Lochem naar Zutphen, een van de grotere steden in Nederland zonder een directe aansluiting op een autosnelweg. De N346 ligt over de gehele lengte zo'n 5 à 10 kilometer ten zuiden van autosnelweg A1 (Amsterdam - Osnabrück). Tot de opening van de A1 in 1980 was de N346 de hoofdroute.
Deze video start waar de vorige video eindigde: ter hoogte van de provinciegrens tussen Overijssel en Gelderland. We rijden verder westwaarts door een open landschap en bereiken de stad Lochem. Hier loopt de N346 door de bebouwde kom. Op het moment van plaatsen van deze video (augustus 2023) wordt er druk gewerkt aan een de aanleg van een nieuwe brug over het Twentekanaal ten noordoosten van Lochem en het aanpassen van de wegen tussen de N825 naar Borculo en de N322 richting Raalte. In de video is de oude situatie nog te zien.
Ten westen van Lochem ligt de N346 in een uitgestrekt bosgebied. Ter hoogte van buurtschap Warken eindigt het bos en rijden we kortdurend door een open landschap totdat we het dorp Warnsveld bereiken, een voorstad van de aangrenzende stad Zutphen.
De video eindigd in Zutphen, een oude hanzestad met ongeveer 40.000 inwoners.
