EXPLORING BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA + MONTEVIDEO, URUGUAY | Latin America Travel Series 12
Nicknamed the “Paris of the South,” Buenos Aires is the most visited city in South America. It’s also probably the most modern city of the continent. Although it may lack a world famous icon like the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty, there are still so many reasons to visit! We really enjoyed our time there and some of the main places we visited included La Recoleta Cemetery, Palermo, La Casa Rosada, and La Boca. The two things at the top of our list to experience in Buenos Aires were a tango show and a delicious steak dinner!
For more tips about the best things to do in Argentina, here is a link to our Argentina travel guide!
We also took a ferry from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Montevideo, Uruguay! Distance-wise if you could go directly from one city to another, it’s only 126 miles. But the Río de la Plata, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, kind of gets in the way…so the best option is to take a ferry.

Come along with us to experience euphoria in Uruguay! This small country—tucked between South American giants Argentina and Brazil—has a mind of its own. In contrast to its boisterous neighbors, the first thing you’ll notice is the calm, laid back, avant garde vibe. Tranquility is the language of the land! Along with safety, stability, and peacefulness, Uruguay is also full of eye-popping surprises that will awaken all your senses.
Rich in Spanish and Italian heritage and lavished with nature’s opulence, the entire country fulfills its promise of a bucket list destination. It’s easily explored and pleasurable all year round. Fly in directly or hop the ferry from Buenos Aires across the mighty Rio de la Plata to charming Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can tour the cobblestoned historic quarter in an afternoon—or to bustling Montevideo with its wide avenues, waterfront vistas, and colorful markets.
From Montevideo, drive north through gorgeous green countryside dotted with vineyards and grazing cattle to the insanely beautiful beaches along Uruguay’s 500 kilometers of dune-filled coastline. From popular Punta del Este to magical Valizas to jaw-dropping Punta del Diablo, the beach towns, fishing villages, lagoons, and wetlands are like so many gems from a precious necklace strewn along the shoreline. Uruguay is a traveler’s utopia…a feeling that will wash over you and stay deep within.
Our custom trips are drawn from a menu of enticing experiences with something interesting for everyone.

MOUTH WATERING Uruguay Street Food Tour | Feria de Tristan Narvaja in Montevideo
On today's episode, we explore the MASSIVE Feria de Tristan Narvaja Sunday market in Montevideo, Uruguay. I'm still drooling just thinking about all the delicious food I ate here! Get ready to chow down on gigantic empanadas, juicy choripan, crispy torta frita, a tasty fried fish sandwich, a classic taco, some sweet orange juice, and finally, a decadent cup of chica!
This video might just be one of my most favorite street food tours that I've ever done, because virtually every bite was so amazing. We're about to chow down on cuisine from Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, and a few other countries in Latin America as well.
The Feria de Tristan Narvaja is home to a lot of street food, but also SO MUCH STUFF! You can find anything here, from old comic books, to antiques, to knick-knacks, to junk, junk and more junk!
Where do you want to see me travel to next? What should I eat? Share all your recommendations and suggestions below!
I LOVE to meet my fans, so let me know if you want to hop aboard the rocket ship!

Joseph Polloni kam damals in rauer See und strandete hier.
