Places to see in ( Le Mans - France ) La Nuit des Chimeres
The Night of chimeras is an annual night cultural event organized by the City of Le Mans since 2005. The principle is to illuminate the old town, in using holograms during the summer, from Tuesday to Saturday. Seven sites are highlighted in the Old Mans .
It is proposed to the spectators a free nocturnal walk, to the discovery of the architectural heritage. Projected graphics are due to Skertzò . Playful, they tell the story of the plantagenet city . These projections also reconstruct the life of the Middle Ages.
The Night of the Chimères consists of a free course through the old city of Le Mans punctuated by seven sites. On the course, there are projections of gargoyles and chimeras, as well as colorful lanterns.
On this facade of the Saint-Julien cathedral seen from the Place des Jacobins , various paintings follow each other for 15 minutes. The projection, Between Angels and Demons, inter alia includes elements of architecture, plant motifs, signs of the zodiac. It is projected every night during the months of July and August.
On the staircase next to the cathedral is projected the birth of the chimeras. The characters emerge from the fountain and continue their journey to the bedside of the cathedral. The screening is done every evening during the months of July and August.
The concert of the Angels projected on the facade of the cathedral is a musical sequence of 10 minutes. The 47 angels musicians accompanied by the music of Richard Dubugnon come from a fresco in the apse of the cathedral dating from the xiv th century and rediscovered in the xix th century. This projection is part of the medieval cycle.
