Welcome to Cassis, France! This picturesque seaside village on the French Riviera is known for its crystal-clear waters, charming harbor, and dramatic cliffs. Here’s what to see and do in Cassis.
Start with a stroll along the Port of Cassis, lined with colorful houses, fishing boats, and waterfront cafes. This area is perfect for soaking up the local atmosphere and enjoying fresh seafood while watching the boats come and go.
Calanques National Park is one of Cassis's main attractions, featuring steep limestone cliffs and turquoise inlets. You can explore the Calanques by hiking, taking a boat tour, or kayaking. Popular inlets like Calanque d’En-Vau, Calanque de Port-Miou, and Calanque de Port-Pin offer breathtaking views and are ideal for swimming and snorkeling.
The Cassis Beach (Plage de la Grande Mer) is close to the port and has calm waters, making it a great spot to relax. Other nearby beaches, like Plage de l’Arène and Plage du Bestouan, offer a quieter experience, surrounded by scenic cliffs and clear waters.
Cap Canaille is the highest sea cliff in France and offers stunning panoramic views of the coastline. Drive or hike up to the viewpoints for a breathtaking perspective on the bay, Cassis village, and the Mediterranean Sea.

Breathtaking spots in the South of France! Music : The xx - Intro
Cassis 🇫🇷 TRAVEL GUIDE | Exploring the South of France for the FIRST TIME!
This was my first trip to the south of France and after spending a day in Marseille, my friends and I headed to Cassis where you sat in the sunshine at the port, took boat trips out to the Calanques, and hiked through Parc national des Calanques or the Calanques National Park. We also visited the Cassis Market, walked the back streets of this Provencal town, and drank local wine while getting sunburn in February!

Avignon France Travel Guide - Sur le Pont d'Avignon ... | 90 + Countries with 3 Kids
As you explore Avignon, you will realize that large parts of the town and numerous buildings have been declared UNESCO World Heritage sites, which is not something you’ll come across every day.
Their famous bridge and palace are the first ones on the UNESCO’s list, but there are many other protected sites as well, including the Avignon Cathedral, the Museum of the Petit Palais and the protective walls leading up to the bridge.
Previously mentioned museum looks like a giant fortress and houses an impressive collection of paintings and sculptures from the Renaissance and Middle Ages.
Did you know that between the years 1309 and 1377, Avignon, was the seat of the papacy, not Rome? The popes who lived in Avignon ordered the construction of the palace you can visit today, as well as fortification walls that still surround the center of the city.
