Laško is a spa town in Slovenian region of Styria (Štajerska). Healing properties of local waters have been known since the Roman times and Laško developed as a health resort towards the end of the 19th century. Today Laško thermal spa resort is one of the most important health spas and tourist centers in Slovenia and is definitely worth a visit.
In addition to its hot springs Laško is also known for its brewery (Laško Brewery) which is the largest brewery in Slovenia. Laško even hosts its annual Festival of Beer & Flowers. The town's layout is defined by Savinja river and Hum hill with the local castle known as Tabor Castle. It dates to the 12th century and was extended in the 16th century.

Un compleanno da festeggiare (quello di Elisa🎂) e la voglia di rilassarci in famiglia in un luogo speciale: questi sono gli ingredienti di questo weekend trascorso alle Thermana Laško, le splendide terme di Lasko, nel cuore della Slovenia.
Come raggiungere le terme di Lasko? Partiti da Reggio Emilia e passati per Lubiana siamo arrivati a Lasko dopo circa 6 ore di auto. Questo piccolo paese della Slovenia centrale ci ha dato il benvenuto con una nevicata che ha reso ancora più natalizia l'atmosfera.
Tra hotel 4 stelle, piscine con acqua termale, idromassaggi, spa e massaggi con oli alla birra sono stati tre giorni in cui il relax è stato davvero ai massimi livelli! Le Thermana Laško sono perfette sia per una vacanza di coppia che per tutta la famiglia.
Ma il nostro weekend in Slovenia non è stato solo parco termale perché abbiamo visitato il castello di Lasko (ma non il birrificio produttore della celebre Birra Lasko perché aperto solo due giorni a settimana) e il paese di Celje con il suo pittoresco mercatino di Natale.

Join me in my travel to the beautiful Slovenia!
In this video, I take you on an amazing journey to the beautiful country of Slovenia, one of the most underrated destinations in Europe. Slovenia has it all: stunning natural scenery, charming towns, rich culture and history, and delicious food and wine.
We start our adventure at Lake Bled, one of the most iconic attractions in Slovenia. This fairy-tale lake has a small island with a church, a medieval castle on a cliff, and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We take a traditional boat ride to the island, explore the castle, and taste the famous Bled cream cake.
Next, we visit the Vintgar Gorge, a natural wonder carved by the Radovna River. We walk along wooden bridges and paths that follow the turquoise water, admire the waterfalls and rapids, and enjoy the fresh air and greenery.
One of the highlights of our trip to Slovenia was staying at hotel Rimske therme, a part of the spa and wellness complex @rimsketerme, surrounded by a lush forest. We enjoyed the free access to the indoor pool, the panoramic outdoor pool with water seats and sunbeds. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious and varied. We felt relaxed and rejuvenated after our stay at this hotel.
We then head to Ljubljana, the capital and the heart of Slovenia. Ljubljana is a charming city with a lively atmosphere, beautiful architecture, and a river running through it. We admire the masterpieces of Jože Plečnik, the local architect who shaped the city’s identity, visit the hilltop castle, and join the locals at the riverside cafes and markets.
Finally, we end our trip in Maribor, Slovenia’s second largest city and a cultural hub. Maribor is known for its vibrant festivals, historical monuments, and wine tradition. We stroll through the old town.
