Top Locations in Mallorca, Spain - Alcúdia, Santa Maria del Camí | Beach Travel Destination 4K Drone
Mallorca (Majorca) is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean. Enjoying a mild climate for most of the year, it is ideal for relaxing beach holidays, outdoor sports, and gastronomic getaways. Day trip from Palma, a perfect beach holiday destination.
- Platja de Muro Playa de Muro is one of the largest sand beaches in Mallorca, located in the town of Muro, near Alcúdia on the northeast coast of the island. It is a very popular beach for families, couples, and solo travellers in all age groups because of its easy access, restaurants, onsite facilities, kid focused activities, and the exceptionally shallow waters in which you have to walk quite far before it gets deep. Playa de Muro is a very popular base for holiday destinations with all of the large hotels and rental apartments within walking distance to the beach.
- Santa Maria del Camí Santa Maria del Cami, also known as simply Santa Maria by locals, is a market town in the central area of Mallorca, situated on a flat central plain with stunning views of the Tramuntana mountain range. Santa Maria has a long history of wine production, and the journey to the town will take you through vast vineyards and fincas bedecked by almond trees, famous for the stunning displays of white almond blossom in January and February.

Transcript:
We’re talking about Alcudia in Mallorca, it’s the main tourist resort in the north of the island.
We went to the beach which is super family-friendly. The water is really shallow, there are loads of bars and shops and restaurants right alongside the beach. - Yeah, and next to the beach is the harbour, which is very very pretty…
We’re here at the harbour and it’s all a bit more upmarket around here. You’ve got the stunning yachts and the big boats all on this side of you and the quite posh, slightly more upmarket restaurants over on this side.
I don’t know if this is too far but it feels a little bit like Cannes, south of France.
But not all of Alcudia is tourist-heavy. Actually, our favourite part was the old town, which is surrounded by a medieval wall. - Yep, it’s a little bit inland so maybe a taxi journey or a bus ride away. You can even get a tourist bus that will take you there. This medieval wall is really cool, you can actually take the steps up to the top and walk around nearly the whole of the city.
So this is the old town but it looks like it’s been renovated quite recently. It’s immaculately clean and it just has all these little boutiques selling local goods, a few souvenirs, hand-made crafts… You can buy your very own cushion with somebody who looks like they may have colonised the island at one point.
We did explore some Roman ruins, which are just outside the city wall. Now, back in the Roman period, this was one of the most important towns of the Balearics, because of its position between Alcudia and Pollensa.
It cost us €3 to get in. It felt kind of cool to be exploring a Roman excavation site.
So that’s Alcudia. We liked it because it was a really good mix between touristy stuff as well as the historical side of things, so it meant that you could tick off both boxes in a week’s holiday and really enjoy yourself.
But if Alcudia’s not your thing, check out our video on Palma. It’s the island’s capital and we also loved it. Yeah, really loved that one.
Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe! Bye!
