Just an hour away from the main city of Kota Bharu, there lies the beautiful Perhentian Islands, a snorkelling haven, if you must. :-)

The Stadhuys is now a museum in Melaka where visitors can learn more about the Melaka Sultanese, Baba and Nyonya history, as well as the Portugese settlement, the Dutch era, and the British time in Melaka.
We had a great time visiting the historic sites of Malacca.

Malacca in Peninsular Malaysia is also spelled Melaka and is one of the most interesting parts of the country. Malacca has a varied history, having been colonized by the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, and as such you will find influences from all of these former colonial powers in the food, architecture, and even the language.
The city also has a large Chinese community known as Peranakan or Straits Chinese which has led to the Nonya culture which is a mix of Malay and Chinese influences that has even spawned a completely unique cuisine in the form of delicious Nonya dishes. As well as food, you can expect a huge number of cultural attractions in Malacca, and considering its size it has a wide variety of engaging museums which will be a treat for any history buffs wanting to know more about the area.
This is also a strategically important part of the country that sits on a graceful river, and one of the highlights of a trip here is a scenic river cruise that allows you to take in all the delights of Malacca while enjoying the breeze over the water. Much of the city has remained unchanged for centuries and you can still find crumbling forts as well as buildings that are covered with traditional cherry-red façades that were introduced during the colonial period.
All in all, Malacca offers a serene yet fascinating glimpse into the history of Malaysia and is a top spot for anyone looking to explore a different side of the country away from big cities like Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA KUBU BHARU - A MAGNIFICENT SMALL TOWN!
Kuala Kubu Bharu - The original town was known as Kuala Kubu and was well known for tin mining activities in Selangor. It used to be the fort of Raja Mahadi when he fought with Tengku Kudin during the Selangor civil war from 1867 to 1874. Unfortunately, this town was destroyed when the Kuala Kubu dam burst in 1883 killing 33 people. Henceforth, this town was called Ampang Pecah or broken dam. This is history!

Amazing places to visit in Malaysia.
What a way to start 2023. Myself and Shah-@letzUploadit took these two amazing Italjet scooters up to the mountain in Malaysia. During this ride, we visited 4 locations starting with number 1) KKB- Kuala Kubu Baru Bridge Rope Swing. 2) KKB- Lookout Point Sugai Selangor Dam. 3) KKB- Bridge Lookout Point Sugai Selangor Dam. 4) KKB- Sungai Chiling Fish Sanctuary.
If you like nature, these places are just simply breathtaking. The good news is all these 4 locations are situated on the same highway and that makes it easy for you to visit all these locations however you do need to have your own transportation because there is no public transport on this mountain. You can visit all these 4 locations in just one day. Riding the Italjet scooter around the mountain was just so much fun.
