48 hours in Kosciusko County, Indiana (Warsaw and Winona Lake) VLOG
this weekend we head for a short road trip (roughly 2.5 hours from Chicago) and check out Kosciusko County in Northern Indiana.
While the county has many great cities to visit, our time was limited to just two... we head to Warsaw, Indiana and Winona Lake, Indiana.
Plenty to do there (we stayed an extra day to avoid driving at night back home) but you can pretty much do a lot in a day or 2.
Great dining options and scenery, very relaxing and peaceful.

Natchez Trace Parkway - Jackson to Kosciusko - Mississippi | Drive America's Highways 🚙
🚙 Drive America's Highways for 56 miles north along the Natchez Trace Parkway from Jackson to Kosciusko, Mississippi 🏞
We start the video at the Parkway Information Cabin / US-51 interchange in Richland, northeast of Jackson. Driving northeast along the banks of the Ross R. Barnett Reservoir, we make a quick pit stop at an overlook before leaving the Jackson metro as we cross the interchange with MS-43.
Continuing northeast, we stop at a few roadside stops before turning north towards Kosciusko, where we end the video exiting the Trace at MS-14 south of Kosciusko.

Zatrzymuje się w miejscach związanych z Polakami w Teksasie: Kosciusko, Cestohowa, gdzie trafia na rocznicę założenia miasta (150 lat!) oraz najstarsza Polska osada w USA - Panna Maria.
Ale celem najważniejszym jest niesamowite Centrum Lotów Kosmicznych NASA w Houston! Ależ atrakcje!

Kosciusko National Park Camping - Yarrangobilly pool, Coolamine Homestead and the Blue Waterholes
This is without a doubt one of our absolute favourite places in the world after this trip! We left the South coast and headed to Long Plain Campground in the Snowy Mountains, this is a beautiful campground with a historic hut and they allow camping with horses here too. It was a lovely stay (despite the horrible turquoise mosquitos). The next day we head to Yarrangobilly thermal pools for a dip, this turquoise water is 27 degrees all year round (not 23 Nick haha). We then headed to Coolamine Homestead which is an exceptional example of the huts dotted throughout the Snowy Mountains area. Once we arrived at Magpie flat campground, we decided to head for a stroll and did the Nichols Gorge walk which starts from the Blue Waterholes. WOW, this hike is spectacular, we explored caves and wished that we packed out head torches because you can actually explore the caves much more than we did. We finished off the night looking over the mountains and seeing gorgeous Kangaroos hopping around the campsite. The next day we felt ready for another hike and did Clarkes Gorge, THIS ONE WAS EVEN BETTER! This place is just incredible, after getting lost in a cave behind a waterfall thinking that was the track and completing many water crossings, we arrived at the most beautiful waterfall. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed being there. We hope you go visit the Snowy Mountains.

Choctaw Lake in Tombigbee National Forest - near the Natchez Trace Parkway
If you like quiet camping, campfires, fishing, walking, swimming, and relaxing, then this place is for you. Around 28 miles of hiking and biking trails. Choctaw Lake Recreation Area is located about three miles south of Ackerman, MS. Choctaw Lake is named after the Choctaw Indians.
The Heart of Dixie Chapter met at Choctaw Lake for their third stop of the Rolling Rally.
The rally group had a good time having a group breakfast, Nostalgia Potluck, hiking, geocaching, reading, dog walking, biking, games, fishing, social hour, photography, enjoying nature, campfires, touring the local area, as well as the Natchez Trace Parkway.

Thaddeus Kosciusko NM and Edgar Allan Poe NHS
I visit the smallest National Park unit, Thaddeus Kosciuszko National Memorial in Philadelphia, PA, home of the founding father-adjacent military architect and freedom fighter. Then I hop across town to another home in the NPS, Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site. He only lived there for a year, but managed to write and publish some of his best known works during his time in the residence.
Brutal Off-Track Hike In The Australian High Country - 6 Mile Spur
If you're after a challenging but rewarding bushwalk in the High Country then 6 Mile Spur has you covered!
Not a place for the inexperienced hiker, 6 Mile Spur climbs to Little Mount Buller over 10km of off-track navigation. If you can push through the shrub you'll be rewarded with what I think is the best rock scrambling I've experienced in the region.
🥾 Hike Details 🥾
Grade 5+ (no trail, low grade rock climbing). Starts along Brocks Road past Sheepyard Flat, cross the Howqua River along the Low Track and climb onto the obvious spur. Stick to the center of this main spur and follow it until the summit of Little Mount Buller over 10km and nearly 1500m of elevation gain.
Many maps show this as a walking track - don't be fooled! There's no track... but it is the route. Enjoy but be safe and respectful of the vegetation.
