Should You Visit Pune? Our Reactions!
Is Pune worth visiting? Manisha and I spent 3 days there, visiting all the sights and trying all the local food. We'll give you our honest review of Pune and whether it's worth your time.
Pune, located in the western state of Maharashtra, India, has a rich history, a vibrant cultural scene, and beautiful natural surroundings. The city offers a wide range of activities to explore and enjoy. Some of the best things to do in Pune include visiting the historical Aga Khan Palace, which played a significant role in India's struggle for independence, exploring the beautiful Shaniwar Wada Palace, and wandering through the charming lanes of the old city.
For nature lovers, a visit to the serene Pashan Lake or the stunning Sinhagad Fort is a must.
Pune is also known for its delicious street food, so make sure to indulge in some local delicacies like vada pav and misal pav. Overall, Pune is a city with a unique blend of history, culture, and nature, making it a must-visit destination for any traveller.
The city has been an important centre for various dynasties and empires throughout history, including the Maratha Empire, the Peshwas, and the British Raj. The city is home to several other historical sites like the Shaniwar Wada Palace, Lal Mahal, and the Parvati Hill Temple, which give a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Pune.
Pune's history and cultural legacy make it an important destination for anyone interested in India's past.

Top 5 Best Place to visit in LONAVALA😍||#TOPexplorer #shorts #lonavala #lonavalavlog #lonavalatrip
मदहोशीयां बेहद हैं सनम तेरी बाहों में 😍 ❤ . . . . 1. Bhushi Dam, Lonavala -
If you are looking for places to visit near me for picnicking with friends and family, then head straight to Bhushi Dam, which forms the popular Bhushi Lake. There are steps to access this masonry dam on the Indrayani River, where you can sit and soak the warm sunshine as well as enjoy the stunning views of the surroundings.
This popular tourist attraction tends to get overcrowded during weekends, especially in the monsoon season, when you may face difficulty in finding a decent spot to sit on the steps. You must note that swimming is prohibited here because of the inconsistent water flow.
2. Kune Falls -
Cascading from a height of 200 m, Kune Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region. This three-tiered waterfall is set against the backdrop of lush green Sahyadri Mountains and is a visual treat for nature lovers. It is also the 14th largest waterfall in the country and one of the best tourist places in Lonavala.
Kune Falls is divided into two sections and it descends to form a pool below. Apart from taking a refreshing dip in the cool water, you can enjoy a picnic with your loved ones and try different adventurous activities, such as ziplining and rappelling. The best time to visit Lonavala’s Kune Falls is during the monsoon season when large volumes of water gush down to the pool below.
Location: Lonavala-Khandala Valley, Lonavala Timings: All day (Best time: Sunrise to Sunset)
3. Karla Cave -
Not too far from Bhaja Caves lies another popular tourist attraction – Karla Caves that houses the largest and most well preserved Hinayana Buddhist Chaitya in the country. Associated with Mahasamghika sect of Buddhism, these are one of the oldest rock-cut caves in India with the oldest one dating back to the 1st century BCE.
You will be amazed to see fine motifs, sculptures, inscriptions, stupas, pillars and 37-pillar aisle at Karla Caves that boasts of over 2000-year-old beams, amongst which some of them are still alive. You will also come across a temple at the entrance that has been recently built using pillars from the Buddhist period.
Location: Karli, Lonavala Timings: 9 am to 6 pm
4. Rajmachi Viewpoint -
Rajmachi Fort, also known as Manoranjan Balekilla, undoubtedly tops the list of inescapable Lonavala places to visit. Built by the popular Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji, the historical site actually comprises two fortresses – Shrivardhan and Manaranjan – that were built at a height of about 3000 feet on a rugged hill in the Sahyadri Range to keep an eye on the surroundings. The fort boasts of many ancient caves and temples, such as Kal Bhairava Mandir, with few of them existing even before the fort was built. This place offers breath-taking views of the verdant surroundings and is extremely popular among vacationers, especially nature lovers and trekkers.
Location: Rajmachi Village, Lonavala Timings: 9 am to 6 pm
5. Lion Point -
At 650 meter height, Tiger Point, which is also called as Tiger’s Leap, offers spectacular views of forests, lush greenery, waterfalls and lakes around. Since it resembles a leaping tiger’s shape, the place is called thus. If you are here during monsoon, you will have a spellbinding session with the clouds flowing over and around you minimizing visibility but maximizing the heavenly feeling you experience here. The sunrise and sunset views from here are mesmerizing. The place, in short, is a nature lover’s ultimate dream destination. . . . #TOPexplorer #reels #lonavala #maharashtra #mumbai #pune #lonavaladiaries #travel #nature #india #photography #lonavalatrip #instagram #naturephotography #adventure #khandala #trekking #travelphotography #hillstation #instagood #camping #photooftheday #lonavla #travelgram #tigerpoint #lonavalascenes #incredibleindia #pawnalake #topexplorer
