S1 – Ep 522 – Klerksdorp, North West!
Our visit to Klerksdorp was very interesting. The first thing we did upon arrival was seek out the beautiful old station building. It was stunning, especially with its lovely sandstone architecture and tiny stone structure, also dating back to 1897. After that, we found a charming spot to enjoy a good breakfast. Next, we visited the Klerksdorp Dam, a fantastic resort with a large caravan park. The atmosphere there was so peaceful. We also noticed signs for the Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve and decided to check it out. It turned out to be a great decision! The reserve offers a self-drive game viewing experience with a variety of wildlife. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Our overnight stay at Drummers Nest was comfortable and cosy. Overall, visiting Klerksdorp again after so many years was a wonderful experience.

- Day 1: Spend the morning on a walking tour of the buzzing Maboneng District. Fuel up with lunch at Urbanologi restaurant in the heart of Jo'Burg CBD. (Located inside Mad Giant Brewery, it's also home to a pretty great beer list!) Then join a cycling tour through Soweto - Arguably one of the best ways to see the city!
- Day 2: It's an early start as you take to the skies with Bill Harrop's Original Hot Air Balloon Tour for some pretty magnificent views! Then finish day 2 with a safari through Pilanesberg National Park... (The sunsets here are epic! )
- Day 3: Spend all day on a bush walk around Pilanesberg spotting some of the region's best wildlife! Before returning to camp for a proper braai!
