Last minute planned for 2 days trip to a UNESCO World Heritage City of Malaysia, Melaka (Malacca). Melaka has a rich history as a trading port. It was ruled by various empires such as the Portuguese, Dutch and British
Melaka is located south from Kuala Lumpur, about 2 hours drive. We drove there in the morning and had a breakfast stop at Ayer Keroh Overhead Bridge rest area for breakfast.
Day 1
We walked along the Melaka River in the afternoon and evening. The river in the afternoon and evening was really peaceful. We went to Jonker Street (Chinatown of Melaka) and tried the famous chicken rice ball and Nyonya food.
Jonker Street night market was a great experience. Walking around looking at different kinds of street food. The street will be closed to vehicles on Friday and the weekend. The Melaka River at night became colourful when all the pubs and cafes were opened.
