Este departamento es uno de los pocos que nos ofrece absolutamente de todo: turismo de montaña, turismo de playa y turismo en puntos planos. Por lo que en este video, muy seguramente descubrirás más de algún destino turístico que quizá no habías visitado. Mis amigos, hoy les traigo una recopilación de algunos parques del Departamento de Usulutan, esto forma parte de una recopilación de la primera parte, sobre los lugares turísticos con los que cuentan los distintos municipios de El Salvador. En este video, vamos a observar el parque de Jucuapa, Usulutan, Concepcion Batres, Ereguayquin y Santa Elena, todos pertenecientes al departamento de Usulutan. El Salvador gets a bad wrap!
We were told by many that this off-the-beaten-path destination was much too dangerous for us to travel to on holiday, particularly with our kids.
However, we found quite the opposite to be true!
El Salvador had well-maintained roads, kind and welcoming locals, plenty of adventures to be had for the outdoorsy family,
and incredible and cheap food to name just a few of the best attributes!
It’s such a tiny country that it would be a great destination for Americans who only have 1-2 weeks off
and are looking to explore a new country that isn’t too far away.
The first half of our stay was booked in an Airbnb in Los Naranjos, a small town of just 5000 residents along the Ruta de las Flores (the Route of Flowers).
It was an absolutely beautiful property in a stunning setting!
You can find some incredible coffee in this area as well as plenty of volcanos to hike and charming towns to explore!
We found El Salvador to be one of the most kid-friendly places that we’ve ever traveled to!

Riding the collectivo between towns is the best way to get around the Ruta De Las Flores in El Salvador and interact with the friendly local people.
We tried local food in salcoatitan and soaked up the chilled atmosphere, for a tiny town it was one of the best we visited.
Then we spent a couple of days in Nahuizalco which was the most beautiful town on the route. 🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻

CURTIDO
½ head green cabbage, cored and shredded
1 small white onion, sliced
2 medium carrots, grated
4 cups boiling water (960 mL)
1 cup distilled white vinegar (240 mL)
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 teaspoons kosher salt
CHICHARRÓN
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 lb boneless pork shoulder, cut into 1-inch (2-cm) cubes (455 g)
1 teaspoon salt
1 medium tomato, diced
½ green bell pepper, diced
1 small white onion, diced
PUPUSA DOUGH
4 cups masa harina (450 g)
2 teaspoons salt
3 cups cold water (720 mL)
FILLING
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese (100 g)
1 cup refried bean, cooked (240 g)
1 tablespoon vegetable oil, for frying
