Move to Mexico: Beyond the Beach

There are so many great places to live in Mexico that aren't along the beach. Most of them with better summer climates than the beach. But many expats don't consider these places (I was one!) We set our sights on the familiar vacation destinations from our past and end up on the beach.

Spend an hour with Greg for $99USD:

But for many people approaching retirement age, the beach has less allure than it once did. And if you are living full-time in Mexico, then the hot summers along the coast can be a downer. No one moves to Mexico because they love hanging out inside with the air conditioning blasted.

In this video, I interview Greg Custer from Choosing Mexico and Mexico for Living He's spent over 40 years in the Mexican tourism industry and now helps expats find the perfect home. Sometimes along the beach, but often further inland (and higher up.) Greg has a rating system based on:

00:00 Introduction
11:11 Climate (too hot / too cold?)
14:14 Connectivity (how easy is it to travel?)
17:03 Culture (does it feel like Mexico?)
19:14 Community (can you connect with other expats?)
23:16 Care (need a doctor?)
08:53 Costco (all those comforts of home)

Greg gave us details on four inland communities in Mexico that are popular with Americans and Canadians:

28:40 Ajijic / Lake Chapala
29:52 Merida
30:57 Mexico City
