Część polskich podziemi znajduje się nawet na liście światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO, my w 2023 odwiedziliśmy znaną na świecie Kopalnię Soli w Wieliczce, ale i niezwykle ciekawą neolityczną kopalnię, gdzie przez ponad 2000 lat wydobywano krzemień.
W wielu miastach są podziemne trasy turystyczne, utworzone np. z podziemnych magazynów kupców jak w Jarosławiu, Opatowie czy Przemyślu. Na uwagę zasługują wyjątkowe podziemia kredowe w Chełmie, powstałe poprzez wydobywanie kredy piszącej.
Warto również zobaczyć wnętrza fortyfikacji obronnych np. Twierdzy Zamość czy Twierdzy Przemyśl. Za to np. Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska jest znana z licznych jaskiń, część jest udostępniona do zwiedzania turystycznego.

Uniejow Castle - Trips around Poland - Castles & Palaces
The oldest preserved sources in which the castle in Uniejów is mentioned come from 1339. They refer to the damage caused by the Teutonic invasion in the summer of 1331. This description applies to the wooden stronghold, presumably erected in the 12th century by unknown founders. Both Jan Długosz and later sources attribute the construction of the castle to Archbishop Jaroslaw Bogoria of Skotniki and date it to 1350. The stronghold was to complement the border fortresses defending access to the state's Crescent from the north and north-west. The castle had a remarkably military character, but it did not save him from being conquered and penetrated in 1381 by Bernard from Grabow. In the mid-fifteenth century, the castle was expanded, and in 1492 it was conquered again. In 1525 the castle burned down, but in 1534 it was restored. The castle was rebuilt three times in the 17th and 18th centuries. In the same centuries, after the secularization of church goods, the castle was abandoned. Shortly afterward, in 1836, it became a gift of merit to Alexander Tollow granted by the tsarist government. The Toll family lived there until the First World War. While ruling the castle, they made further conversions. In the interwar period, it housed a guest house and school, and during the occupation, it was used as a storehouse for grain, coal, and salt, which broke into bricks and still destroys their structure. In the years 1956–67 the building was renovated and then adapted initially to the archives, later to the hotel and catering complex. The castle performs its last function to this day.
Zamek w Uniejowie - Podróże wokół Polski - Zamki i Pałace
Najstarsze zachowane źródła, w których wspomina się zamek w uniejowie pochodzą z 1339 roku. Odnoszą się one do zniszczeń spowodowanych najazdem krzyżackim latem 1331 roki. Opis ten dotyczy drewnianej jeszcze warowni wzniesionej przypuszalnie w XII wieku przez nieznanych fundatorów. Zarówno Jan Długosz jak również późniejsze źródła przypisują budowę zamku arcybiskupowi Jarosławowi Bogorii ze Skotnik i datują ją na rok 1350. Warownia miała stanowić uzupełnienie kazimierzowskich twierdz granicznych broniąc dostępu do centrum państwa od północy i północnego-zachodu. Zamek posiadał wybitnie militarny charakter, jednak nie nie uchroniło go to przed zdobyciem i spondrowaniem w 1381 roku przez Bernarda z Grabowa. W połowie XV wieki zamek rozbudowano, a w 1492 roku został ponownie zdobyty. W 1525 roku zamek spłonął, lecz już w 1534 roku został oderstaurowany. Zamek był jeszzcze trzykrotnie przebudowywany w XVII i XVIII wieku. W tym samym wieku, po sekularyzacji dóbr kościelnych, zamek został opuszczony. Nidługo potem w 1836 stał się darem za zasługi dla Aleksandra Tollowa przyznanym przez rząd carski. Rodzina Tollów mieszkała w nim aż do I Wojny Światowej. W trakcie władania zamkiem dokonałi kolejnych przebudów. W okresie międzywojennym mieścił się w nim pensjonat i szkoła, a podczas okupacji wykorzystywano je jako magazyn zboża, węgla i soli, która wżarła się w cegły i do dziś niszczy ich strukturę. W latach 1956-67 gmach wyremontowano, a następnie adaptowano początkowo na archiwum, później na zespół hotelowo-gastronomiczny. Ostatną funkcję zamek pełni on do dziś.

Jarosław to miasto leżące w województwie podkarpackim, około 30 kilometrów od Przemyśla. Jedną z największych atrakcji turystycznych Jarosławia jest centrum Starego Miasta, które zachowało swój układ urbanistyczny w niemal niezmienionym stanie od drugiej połowy XIV wieku.
Sercem rynku w Jarosławiu, a zarazem najokazalszym budynkiem wznoszącym się na placu, jest ratusz. Powstały w XV wieku, na przestrzeni dziejów był kilkakrotnie modernizowany. Swój obecny wygląd zyskał na przełomie XIX i XX wieku, gdy pierwotnie gotyckiej budowli nadano neorenesansowy charakter. Obecnie ratusz w Jarosławiu jest siedzibą władz miasta.
Na uwagę bez wątpienia zasługuje jednak cała zabudowa rynku, a zwłaszcza Kamienica Orsettich z podcieniami i misterną attyką, uznawana za jedną z najpiękniejszych jarosławskich kamienic okresu późnego renesansu. Nazwa budynku wywodzi się od nazwiska Wilhelma Orsettiego z Lukki, włoskiego kupca, który w 1633 roku kupił kamienicę, a następnie zmienił ją w wielkomieszczańską rezydencję. Obecnie w Kamienicy Orsettich mieści się muzeum, w którym prezentowane są eksponaty związane z historią i kulturą miasta oraz regionu.
Zabudowę rynku tworzą także Kamienica Attavantich, będąca siedzibą Centrum Kultury i Promocji Miasta oraz Centrum Informacji Turystycznej, oraz Kamienica Gruszewiczowska, wyróżniająca się ozdobnym układem ganków i galerii wokół wewnętrznego dziedzińca oraz późnorenesansowymi malowidłami. W trakcie spaceru po rynku w Jarosławiu warto zobaczyć również Kamienicę królowej Marysieńki oraz Kamienicę Rydzikowską, która jest najlepszym przykładem późnorenesansowej oryginalnej wiatowej kamienicy mieszczańskiej z zachowaną w idealnym stanie wielką izbą, krytą stropem belkowym.
