I'm living in Kokkola, Finland for a year as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. Here you can see some of the places I visited in my fourth month on exchange, when I went on a week long trip to Lapland with a group of Rotary Exchange Students. I spent about a week exploring Lapland with a group of over 80 other exchange students and Rotarians. We stayed in Muonio and were able to witness the beautiful ruska (when the fall leaves change color) and enjoy a bit of snow. It was a very fun trip and I'm glad I was able to go.
We stayed in the Harriniva Hotel and were able to meet the huskies that are trained there and go on a husky sled ride. We also visited their Torassieppi Reindeer Farm, where we fed reindeer and enjoyed a reindeer sleigh ride. A Sami man came to the hotel and performed some joiks for us. Joik is a traditional style of Sami music.

We visited the ski slopes in Ylläs and went sledding and skiing there. I was also able to try ice carving there.
