MagarMandi mata Temple is approx. 1000 years old, it was built in 9th. to 10th. century AD. during Rajput Pratihar dynasty period. The Temple & Village nearby was plundered & vandalized by Mir Khan Pindari from Afganistan, when he was on his way to Somnath(Gujrat) in 13th. century. It's believed that the 1st. Mugal/Mogul ruler Baber brought the Canons to India in 1526AD. but long before Baber, Mir Khan Pindari was the first, Who brought the Canons to India & he Used the Canons to destroy this temple.
originally the temple belongs to the MahishasurMardini(one of the form of mother goddess, who killed the demon Mahisha means the demon was in the form of Buffalo). The temple is around 2kms. away from the Town Nimaj(see the given Google location Link) ,near Jaitaran town in Pali district of Rajasthan (India). presently the temple complex is managed by Archeology department of Government of Rajasthan, in this complex apart from the main temple, you can also see the broken stones pillars & relics & not to forget to visit the small museum right side of in front of the temple, which is having a good collection of broken figures, idols of god/goddesses & carved stones from temple (the museum is locked, so you can contact to the employee, who's living in a room nearby)
Note:- No entry fee(free of cost for temple & museum both) photography is allowed in temple, but not in museum officially. No Guide facility. No mineral water & refreshments.
