Japan With Us - Day 4 Kamikochi Hike & Shin-Hotaka Ropeway (Best Panoramic View of Japanese Alps!)
Our Japan trip last November 2019, Day 4 at Kamikochi AGAIN! Better weather to hike and we witnessed the amazing closing ceremony of Kamikochi National Park. We went to Shin-Hotaka Ropeway and witnessed the BEST panoramic view of Japanese Alps, the best so far in our life!
Did not expect to visit Kamikochi for 3 days striaght but decided to try our luck on our last night stay in Takayama due to bad weather in first two days. No regrets for braving the long journey to Kamikochi 3 days continously, managed to catch the best weather on the last day, and the special closing ceremony of Kamikochi National Park. With the best sun of the week, we witnessed the majestic view of Japanese Alps through Shin Hotaka Ropeway.
Enjoy ;-)

Shin-Hotaka Ropeway (新穂高ロープウェイ) , Okuhida , Japan
Double decker ropeway into the Northern Alps
Shin-Hotaka Ropeway (新穂高ロープウェイ) is one of Japan's most unique ropeways. It has one of the largest elevation gains in the country as it climbs over 1000 meters up the side of the Hotake Mountain Range, which includes Oku-Hotakedake, Japan's third highest peak. But its most distinguishing feature is its double decker gondola cars, the first of their kind in Japan, which offer excellent views of the Okuhida Region.
JAPAN VLOG - EP2 KAMIKOCHI - Day trip to Japan Alps (Kamikochi) with a baby
Moving to Matsumoto on our 3rd day in Japan! Matsumoto is a city in Nagano, it is quite far from Tokyo and takes around 3 hours by train.
From Matsumoto we go for a daytrip to Kamikochi, one of the famous nature destination in Japan! We visit Kamikochi with our 6 months old boy, we can say that the hiking from Kamikochi bus station to Myojin Pond is still doable with a baby, but best not to bring your stroller because the path is not suitable for it. Better rely on a nice and comfortable carrier to bring your kids with you :-D

Japanese Town You Must Visit | Takayama
This video shows some of the highlights of visiting Takayama in Gifu prefecture, Japan. We visited Japan in spring of 2019 and stayed in an Airbnb in the historic district of Takayama Japan for three nights. Compared to the busy cities of Kyoto and Tokyo, Takayama was quiet, much less crowded and rivals other historic cities with its impressive old Shinto shrines, Buddhist temples and beautiful surrounding mountainous nature.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Places we mentioned in this video include: - Hida folk village (Hida no Sato) - Shinhotaka ropeway at Okuhida region - Higashiyama walking course with numerous shrines and temples
