Amakusa, Kumamoto(Japan) , the SECRET wind message, ASMR
@peace.maker
Amakusa is a city located in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is situated on the southern coast of the Amakusa Islands, which are part of the larger Kyushu island. The city has a population of approximately 90,000 people and covers an area of 294.61 square kilometers.
The Amakusa Islands are a group of around 120 islands that stretch for approximately 130 kilometers along the coast of Kumamoto Prefecture. They are known for their beautiful scenery, including stunning beaches, rugged cliffs, and picturesque fishing villages. The islands are also home to a variety of wildlife, including dolphins, sea turtles, and rare bird species.
Amakusa has a rich history and is known for its role in the early Christian missionary movement in Japan. In the late 16th century, Jesuit missionaries arrived on the islands and began converting local residents to Christianity. However, this was met with resistance from the ruling authorities, who saw it as a threat to their power. This led to a series of uprisings and conflicts known as the Shimabara Rebellion, which ultimately resulted in the persecution and execution of many Christians.
Today, Amakusa is a popular tourist destination known for its natural beauty and historical significance. Visitors can explore the many churches and other sites associated with the Christian history of the islands, as well as enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and diving.

A Gothic-looking church is located on a cove of a fishing village. In 1934, a French priest Augustin Halbout MEP purchased the premises of the former village headman and built a wooden and concrete finished church, with Tetsukawa Yosuke’s design and construction. He placed the altar at the very site where e-fumi (a test to ensure non-allegiance to Christianity) had been conducted.
