Sauna Culture, Snow Cabins & Snow walking in the Lakelands of Finland
I recently found myself trying to understand Finnish Sauna Culture while staying in a snow cabin in the Lakelands of Central Finland at a resort called Revontuli. Revontuli is where people go when they want to experience the Northern Lights and an escape from the stresses of the big city. Revontuli is the Finnish word for Northern lights. While I was exploring the Hankasalmi region where Revontuli is I got to explore an array of different types of Sauna and tried my best to understand Finnish Sauna culture while an ice storm tried its best to make seeing the Northern Lights impossible. I also got to grips with walking on the top of the snow with snowshoes. Thank you for joining me on another adventure.

🧡 The best hotel deals: Situated 50 metres from Retretti Train Station and 100 metres from Lake Pihlajavesi, Harjun Portti offers cottage accommodation with a private sauna and fully equipped kitchen. Parking and public area WiFi are free on site. Punkaharju city centre is 9 km away.
