Places to Visit When in Bosnia | Where to Travel in Bosnia | City of Tuzla
Lets take a tour of Tuzla City.
Tuzla is the third largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the administrative center of Tuzla Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city of Tuzla is home to Europe's only salt lake as part of its central park. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tuzla is also regarded as one of the most multicultural cities in the country and has managed to keep the pluralist character of the city throughout the Bosnian War and after, with Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats and a small minority of Bosnian Jews residing in Tuzla. Tuzla is one of the oldest European sustained settlements. During the period of the Roman Republic (before the area was conquered by Rome), Tuzla (or Salines as it was called at the time) was ruled by the Illyrian tribe Breuci. It remained under Ottoman rule for nearly 400 years. #BosniaandHerzegovina #cityofTuzla #philippines
A day in Varaždin | Continental Croatia
What makes Varaždin special is its unique monumental and historic heritage preserved in the intact and opulent Baroque architecture of the historic City core. Its unique urban identity shows not only the opulent Baroque architecture of the historic core but also the warmth of its squares and romantic streets. The historical City core stages numerous events throughout the year.
You can’t see, feel and experience all that Varaždin has to offer in a day, but love at first sight is guaranteed.
Enjoy the artistic and architectural messages of the past The preserved baroque historic City core is rich in monuments and art heritage and a walk down the City’s streets reveals numerous palaces, villas and the oldest city hall in Europe.
Varaždin was built over the centuries and different stylistic influences, varying fashions of certain historical periods and wishes of the investors created an interesting and somewhat unusual harmony of flora and fauna, mythical animals and unusual characters built into the facades of the houses and palaces in the historic City core.
If you are a lover of sacral art and architecture, Varaždin reveals to you the richness of its eleven churches, three monasteries and its cathedral. A good guide to this is the ‘The Path of Angels’ Brochure.
Varaždin’s churches are actually the best places to start what is, in many ways, a unique tour of the City. The Tour shows off Varaždin’s Baroque splendour and the Baroque angels are messengers of this splendour.
In addition to the churches, this Central European seductive, playful and historical period will reveal itself to you whilst walking around the historical City core admiring its facades and streets. The charm of a City that has nurtured a pleasant, smart, profound yet cheerful and fun ambience will certainly not leave you indifferent.
The Strossmayer Promenade (the Old Town complex), the Vatroslav Jagić Promenade, the Pope John Paul II Park, the Youth Park and the inevitable Varaždin Cemetery shall be your green intermezzo whilst walking around town.
Test your skill and creativity Visit the Square of Traditional Crafts, opposite the Ursuline Church. In this corner of Varaždin you can feel the spirit of the City’s traditions and get to know some of its creative skills: at the milliner you can decorate your own hat or buy a new one. A hatter, blacksmith, beekeeper, shoemaker and potter in a historically inspired environment of a small square in front of the Ursuline Church will show you what and how they work. Take a peek into their corners and don’t forget to mint a coin – for good luck!
Varaždin’s everyday life is best experienced on the City market, known as ‘Varaždinski plac’ or you can peek at the intimacy of Varaždin’s backyards and listen briefly to their stories. If your day in Varaždin is a Saturday, be in front of the City Hall at ‘Korzo’ (the main square) at 11 AM when you can see the Ceremonial Exchange of the City Guard known as ‘the Purgars’. On March 23, 2017, the historic unit of the City of Varaždin – Varaždin Citizens’ Guard received a decision of the
A visit to the Permanent Museum Exhibition in the Old Town – the Cultural History Department of the Varaždin City Museum preserves important historical documents, valuable collection of guilds, weapons, stone monuments, glass, ceramics and clocks, whilst a walk through the twenty rooms decorated in different styles of previous periods revives the spirit and the lifestyle of previous centuries.
A visit to the ‘World of Insects’ Entomological Collection – a unique European exhibition in the Hercer Palace, which traces a marvellous aspect of nature
A visit to the Miljenko Stančić Gallery – in the Gallery of this great Croatian artist, for whom Varaždin was ‘his measure and his form’ there are 40 exhibits: paintings, prints and the personal belongings of the artist.
A visit to the Museum of Old Testament and Old Techniques – go back to childhood and remember how did old bicycles, engines, toys, and so on looked like.
A visit to the Museum of Croatian Fireworks – The story of voluntary firefighting in Croatia came from Varaždin, the founding of the First Croatian Voluntary Fire Department in Varaždin in 1864, and the story of fire history is kept in the Museum of Croatian Fire Department.
A visit to the Museum of Angels – after nearly three decades of painting motifs of Baroque angels and artistic work under the banner of ‘Varaždin: the City where Angels Sleep’,
From spring to winter the historic City core becomes the stage for many musicians, actors, performers and artists who invite you to become a part of the City in lot of Varaždin events.
For all other possibilities, details and information, please visit the Tourist Office of the City of Varaždin.

GUNJA-DRENOVCI VODIČ KROZ DESTINACIJU - Hrvatska, Srijem, Kontinent

Povijest
Još prije 115 godina davne 1906 god. osnovana je Drenovačka knjižnica i čitaonica na čijim je temeljima izgrađena nova i suvremeno opremljena knjižnica.

In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view on the Croatian Railways train between the towns of Vinkovci and Gunja in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Vinkovci - Gunja railway line (in Croatian Željeznička pruga Vinkovci - Gunja) is located in eastern Croatia. It is 51,2 km long, single-track, non-electrified line and in Croatian railway network it is marked as Regional line R105. The line runs through flat countryside in a north-south direction from the railway junction of Vinkovci to the town of Gunja, which is a border town on the Sava River towards Brčko in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Line was completed in 1886. in order to facilitate the Austro-Hungarian takeover of B&H (in 1878). Bridge over river Sava was completed in 1894 to connect the city of Brčko which is still today an only river port in Bosnia & Herzegovina and a gateway to Danube. Southwards from Brčko, a Brčko-Banovići railway line, constructed by youth volounteers immediately after WW2, extends towards Tuzla and coal-rich mines in Banovići basin, which was for many years primary use of this railway line. Today, line is one of three opeational railway connections between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, connecting the Brčko District which has a special administrative status within B&H.
Main objects on the line are bridge over river Bosut at 8th kilometer, line passes through largest oak tree forest in Croatia (Spačva), crosses under the A3 (Zagreb-Beograd) highway at 30th kilometer with a RoLa terminal built in 2007. Line in Croatia ends with a 646-meter railway bridge over river Sava. Local passanger traffic in operated by Croatian Railways with Fiat/Kalmar 7122/Y1 units with 10 daily services.

This video is the 5th of 7 presenting our 45-day summer drive around Bosnia for 2,189 miles (3,522 km) looking for Yugoslav-era spomeniks (monuments). I found (54) of them. The spomeniks are World War II memorial sculptures that were part of a grand project of Tito's to unify socialist Yugoslavia (Југославија) in the aftermath of the National Liberation War (NOB). Estimates put the number of such spomeniks built at up to 40,000. These communist works of art are unique and beautiful and often abandoned.

Vukovar is a city in eastern Croatia, and the biggest river port in Croatia located at the confluence of the Vuka river and the Danube. Vukovar is the center of the Vukovar-Syrmia County. The city's registered population was 26,716 in the 2011 census, with a total of 28,016 in the municipality.
The name Vukovar means the town on the river Vuka ('Vuko' from the river Vuka, and 'vár' from the Hungarian word for 'castle'). The name of the river Vuka itself originates from the Slavic word 'vuk', meaning 'wolf'. In other languages, the city in German is known as Wukowar, in Hungarian as Vukovár or Valkóvár, in Serbian as Вуковар and in Turkish as Vukovar.
