Le meilleur endroit à Cuba, c'est La Havane, sa capitale ! Pour vous le dire honnêtement, moi qui ai déjà réalisé des films sur d'autres pays d'Amérique Latine, je me suis demandé si j'allais découvrir quelque chose de nouveau à Cuba. Eh bien la réponse est OUI à 200% !! Depuis l'embargo américain que subit ce pays depuis les années 60, il est littéralement resté comme figé à cette époque et c'est tout ce que je vous montre ici. Nous visiterons d'abord la vieille ville classée au patrimoine de l'Unesco, avec ses bâtiments coloniaux et ses voitures vintage. Mais vous découvrirez également la vraie vie des habitants, à quelques centaines de mètres de là, dans des quartiers beaucoup moins flatteurs. Et c'est justement ce contraste qui est intéressant ! Au-delà des rues colorées et animées, c'est une véritable immersion dans la vie cubaine que je vous propose. Bon voyage à tous !

Pinar del Río ist die westlichste und drittgrößte Provinz Kubas. Ihre Hauptstadt heißt ebenfalls Pinar del Río. In der Region liegt einer der drei größten Gebirgszüge in Kuba. Die 175 km lange Cordillera de Guaniguanico erhebt sich am Pan de Guajaibón bis auf 699 Meter. Südlich und nördlich des Gebirges befinden sich Küstenebenen, deren Großteil sumpfig ist.
Hier gibt es einiges zu entdecken. Im Gebirge liegt die Sierra del Rosario, welche unter UNESCO-Schutz steht. Im westlichen Teil davon erstreckt sich die Sierra de los Órganos (Orgelpfeifengebirge). Im Tal dazwischen, dem Valle de Viñales, befindet sich der touristisch bedeutsame Ort Viñales. Aufgrund des karstigen Untergrundes gibt es außerdem viele Höhlen und unterirdische Flüsse in dieser Gegend. Von Viñales aus lohnt sich ein Ausflug dorthin.
In Pinar del Rio wechseln sich bunt getünchte Häuser, gepflegte Tabakplantagen und zerfurchte Nebenstraßen, die in rostrote Erde getaucht sind, ab. Die idyllische Provinz wird auch liebevoll der Garten von Kuba genannt. Die Landschaft um Pinar del Rio lässt schnell erahnen, dass sich hier eines der besten Anbaugebiete für Tabakpflanzen befindet. Da darf ein Besuch in der Fábrica de Tabacos, in der noch fleißig die Deckblätter auf den Schenkeln der Torcedores gerollt werden, nicht fehlen. Ein Zigarrenroller schafft zwischen 40 und 180 Stück am Tag.
