Winter in South Germany (Part - 2) 2021 / Hagbergturm / Gschwend / Ostalbkreis / Baden-Württemberg

The 2nd Part of our Winter in South-Germany Series is finally ready and up for all the great Youtube community out there.

This time I travelled high up in the mountains on a bright sunny but a very cold day in January 2021 to Hagbergturm / Hagberg-Tower, a sort of watch tower on top of the Hagberg Mountain in the Swabian Alps Mountain Range in Baden-Württemberg State of South Germany. The Tower was built in 1930's and is maintained by the German Alpine Club / Deutsche Albverein.

The Tower is open to tourist all year around and is on a popular trekking and cycling track.

Heidenheim Germany

Heidenheim an der Brenz is a town in eastern Baden-Württemberg on the border with Bavaria, about 17 kilometers south of Aalen and 33 kilometers north of Ulm. It is the district seat and largest city in the district of Heidenheim and, after Aalen and Schwäbisch Gmünd, the third-largest city in the East Württemberg region. AALEN. A town with a small city center but an amazing museum of the Roman Limes wall. (Germany)

Welcome to another video/trip report. Today we visit the town Aalen at the federal state Wuerttemberg of Germany which is famous for its nice location and the region of the famous roman Limas wall. Find out more in my video what is happened to visit a town in a low mountain range which is a town or more a big village.

The tour through the town Aalen:
I went by car to the town Aalen on a typical day in the week. Personally, I have been more times in my life there at first for my love of the historic Limes wall and at second for the location of the town in the low mountain range Swabian Alb. I walked step by step into the small city center and spent time at the street which is called marking place but looks more as a shopping and eating street. I visited the known houses in Fachwerk architecture the house which is painted in a special kind of art which should show the history of the town. Later I went by car up to the region of the big Limes Museum and walked a little bit in the park where the hall of the town was loceated. I went to the big museum which is also one building which made the town popular to visit by tourists. For the end of the tour, I went by car up to the mountain behind Aalen where I had a fantastic view to the town, the landscape and the low mountain range Swabian Alb.

About the town Aalen:
Aalen is a town loceated not far away of Wurttemberg capital Stuttgart nearly at the center of the low mountain range Swabian Alb. The town a population of 68.892 people. Aalen is known for its location between hills and the region of the historic wall, called “Limes which was built by the Roman empire for a border between the roman imperial rich and the independence country Germania. The town incudes a kind of shopping passage in form of a marking place, a station where trains depart to Stuttgart and the region and a lot of shops and restaurants for people from Aalen and tourists. To visit the town is to every time in the year a experience for its own.

About the historic Limes wall:
The historic Limas wall is with distance one of the oldest and most famous walls of Germany and Europe. The wall was built from the first to the six centuries after Christ from the roman imperial rich. The entire Limes wall was going from the west part of Asia via Europe to the North Sea. The purpose of the Limes was a military and safe border between the Roman Empire and the independent and large Germania. Today the Limes wall is a world heritage and has on different places still kind of ruined like in the forest and on meadows. At some towns like Weßenburg at Bavaria or Aalen are to find museums which gives a kind of mirror of the life of the Roman military, the life at camps and the different tools which were to use in the fight. A visit in a Limes Museum is more as an amazing experience for history lovers, tourists and for everybody.

Top 10 Rides at Schwaben Park

Schwaben Park is a small, family-owned theme park in Germany. This amusement park started as the Safari Park zoo in the 1970s before growing into a more traditional theme park in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, the park is home to four different roller coasters, including Wilde Hilde (aka the Chicken Coaster).

Aalbäumle is a watch tower that was built in the year 1898 in the Swabian Alps mountian range near the Town of Aalen. It is 26 m high and offers an amazing view to the climbers. It is located on top of a hill and is located near beautiful Beer Garden. There is a flag on top of the tower, which is to indicate the opening Hours of the beer Garden. Always when the nearby Beer Garden is open the flag is hoisted and raised and vice versa. The tower was last renovated in 1996, where its height was also increased to the current height. Its a very famous Spot for the Tourist visiting the Region and also among the Hikers and mountain bikers.
