Coastal Trail Hike | Gros Morne National Park | Newfoundland | Canada
Our next hike within Gros Morne National Park was the coastal trail. This trail is a beautiful walk along the Atlantic ocean.Unlike many other hikes with Gros Morne, the coastal trail is nice and flat. This 6 km trail is suitable for most members of the family. This out and back trail shirts along the coast for the majority of the hike, only dipping into the woods during the last (or first part depending on which side you begin with) to see some stunted trees.
The trail can be accessed from parking lots om either end of the trail, and should only take 2 hours to complete at a moderate pace.
We saw several people using the trail, but some of them were just there to fish. Like many trails within Gros Morne, we were surprised with the lack of people in such a beautiful place.
This trail is along a route that used to connect to small fishing communities (Bakers Brook and Green Point) in the area. We will visit Green Point in a later video as we showcase the Green Point geological area.
There are not many sandy areas, so don't come to the coastal trail thinking you will spend the day at the beach. The beach here are simply coastal (pebbled rocks) not suitable for lounging - although they are beautiful.

Gros Morne is the second highest peak on the island of Newfoundland. Its located in Gros Morne National Park. The complete trail is 17km long. It hold the only difficult trail rating in the park.We had a beautiful day for hiking and capturing great pictures and videos to share.
