A MUST VISIT DESTINATION IN MORNINGTON PENINSULA VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA #InDaynaMo
Hi Guys, Mabuhay Pipol of the Universe! today's video we're are to explore the mornington peninsula here in Victoria, Australia. Tara na pipol of the Universe!
Arthurs Seat State Park is one of the most picturesque locations in the Port Phillip Bay area. The park acquired its name from Arthurs Seat, a 304-metre granite hill from where visitors enjoy a scenic view of the bay’s landscape.
With 24 hour access to the park, it is easy to see why this is a must-visit destination while in the area.
On arrival, one of the best ways to start your day is to walk up the hill to the summit. Atop the hill, you get to soak in the stunning views that are as diverse as they are charming. When the weather is clear, you will be rewarded with beautiful views of the Melbourne city skyline, the You Yangs and Mount Macedon. Back on the ground at the park, make sure you prepare a barbecue in the beautiful Seawinds Gardens. Botanists will love the mix of indigenous and exotic plants that dot the garden. The sculptures by William Ricketts make for an interesting background. The Seawinds Gardens are also popular for wedding ceremonies and please note that pets are not permitted in the Seawinds Gardens.
For nature lovers, the one hour walk to the famous King Falls makes for an amazing way to spend an afternoon in the outdoors. Other popular short walks include the Arthurs Seat Circuit (1.8km), Kings Falls Circuit (1km), Lookout Hill Circuit (1km) and OT Dam Circuit (3km). There are also two mountain biking tracks at the OT Dam and McLarens Dam. Please keep to those two trails as bikes are not permitted on the walking tracks.
Other amenities present at the state park include cafes and restaurants, picnic sites electric BBQ’s, public toilets and ample parking.
To get to the park from Melbourne, take Mornington Peninsula Freeway 60kms south as well as Arthurs Seat Scenic Road.

HAWTHORN HERiTAGE WALK ~ ViCTORiA
#Hawthorn #Boroondara #Hawthornarchitecture This video is about Hawthorn - Melbourne 2019
Hawthorn is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Australia, 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) east of Melbourne's central business district situated in the City of Boroondara.
The area was first settled in the late 1830s. The Boroondara Roads Board, the first municipal authority, was set up in the 1850s and covered a remarkably similar area to the present City of Boroondara. Boroondara is an aboriginal word reputed to mean place of shade. However, the Hawthorn Roads Board and the Kew Roads Board split from the rest of Boroondara in 1860. The HRB evolved into the Town of Hawthorn and the City of Hawthorn. The state government amalgamated the Cities of Camberwell, Hawthorn and Kew in 1994 to form the City of Boroondara.
The name Hawthorn, gazetted in 1840 as Hawthorne, is thought to have originated from a conversation involving Charles La Trobe, who commented that the native shrubs looked like flowering Hawthorn bushes. Alternatively the name may originate with the bluestone house, so named, and built by James Denham St Pinnock), which stands to this day.
The region is generally regarded to be one of Melbourne's surviving bastions of post-Gold Rush expansion and today, one of Melbourne's most affluent and influential suburbs. Land values in the region are among the country's highest, with streets such as Hawthorn Grove, in the prestigious Grace Park Estate, straddling the suburb's northern boundary and Yarra Park's Coppin Grove in the west, located closer to the Yarra River have been arguably the most sought after with properties commanding prices to match. There is also a considerable amount of student accommodation, due mainly to the presence of Swinburne University, which is located in the area adjoining Glenferrie railway station.
Construction of the bridge in 1860 spurred development on the east side of the Yarra River, and ensured the prominence of Bridge Road, Richmond and Burwood Road, Hawthorn as the main thoroughways to the eastern suburbs.

Hi guys,
Thanks for watching our previous videos! It's time for another video...yayyy!!! Paynes Place ---------------- Paynes Place runs off Little Bourke Street between Russell and Exhibition streets. The other end of the place connects to Croft Alley. The place was formerly known as Commercial Lane and Kytes Lane. In July 1873, the Argus reported that Henrietta Nott and Esther Moss were found 'fighting like tigers' in the then Commercial Lane, which was strewn with the ladies' hair, 'while they were urged on and applauded by a crowd of larrikins'. In September 1910, the property owners of Kytes Lane petitioned the Melbourne City Council to change the name to Paynes Place. The main reason for their request was to shed the image of brothels and gambling dens that had come to be associated with Kytes Lane. The owners noted that the dens has now been removed and replaced with substantial brick warehouses. Their efforts may have been premature, with the Argus reporting a raid on an opium den in the lane in December 1911. Paynes Place was given its new name after John Payne of Payne's Bon Marche, located in Bourke Street. In 1920, Paynes Stables were located in Paynes Place. In 1930, there were two fruit merchants in the place.
(PATRICIA MCMULLAN)
Croft Alley ----------- Croft Alley is a narrow lane that leads south from the end of Paynes Place, which in turn runs off Little Bourke Street in Chinatown between Russell and Exhibition streets. Paynes Place, previously Commercial Lane, extended as far south as Bourke Street in 1895, and Croft Alley offered rear access to the residences of Commercial Lane and Market Lane. It also serviced the Gallery Hotel on Bourke Street, via an east-west access laneway that reconnected Croft Alley to Commercial Lane and to Brien Lane, Coverlid Place and Golden Fleece Alley. By 2008, Payne's Place had been shortened by the cinema on Bourke Street, and it now leads directly into Croft Alley, which has become a dead-end. Illustrating a peculiarity of Melbourne's bar scene, three wooden benches now protrude from the southern end of Croft Alley, providing seating to those waiting in line to enter The Croft Institute, the alley's fashionable laboratory-themed bar. The rest of the alley is non-descript; filled with garbage bins, crates and stagnant pools. However, in 2003, Croft Alley also hosted a City of Melbourne Laneways Commission called 'By Lanes'. Dylan Volkhardt's creation projected life-sized images of lane dwellers onto the walls of Croft Alley.

Aerial view - Historic images - Walkaround : Canterbury Maling Rd Shopping Strip Victoria Australia
Maling Road is a popular and historic shopping strip in Canterbury, Victoria, Australia. Maling Road is easily accessible via car or public transport. It is only 12km (7.4mi) or 20 - 30 minutes away from the Melbourne CBD and is directly adjacent to Canterbury Train Station and only nine stops on the Lilydale/Belgrave Line. It contains over 50 Edwardian-style and inter-war retail and commercial buildings in a pseudo-village setting. Its location was chosen due to its proximity to Canterbury railway station.
Also worth noting is that one of Australia's popular TV shows, The Sullivans; which dealt with war-related family drama and filmed during 1976-1983 was filmed nearby. The Sullivans lived at 7 Gordon Street, Camberwell, although filming took place in Canterbury with Willy's Store located at 35 Matlock St, Canterbury which is a short distance off Maling Rd.
The former post office, built about 1910, is now a cafe. The original hall became a cinema, then a plastics factory and today is an antiques store. Maling Rd’s oldest shops are in The Block, built in 1907. Dark Sides of Living in Australia
What are the dark sides of Australia? Australia is a beautiful country with so much to offer and enjoy. But like any other place, it has its dark sides too. From the scorching heat of the outback to the insidious racism that still persists in some areas, living in Australia can be difficult for many people, especially those from minority backgrounds. This video will explore some of these darker aspects of life Down Under, such as climate change, mental health issues and cultural differences between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. It will also discuss how we can work together to create a more equitable society where everyone can thrive despite their background or circumstances. 1. Internet is Bad Internet in Australia is becoming increasingly unreliable and expensive. With the cost of data plans rising, many people are unable to afford access to the internet, making it difficult for them to stay connected with family and friends or work from home. The quality of connection can also be poor, leading to slow speeds and frequent disruptions which make streaming video or downloading large files nearly impossible. Furthermore, Australians pay some of the highest prices in the world for broadband services due to a lack of competition between providers. All these problems are putting a strain on the country's digital economy and inhibiting innovation within its borders. 2. Difficult to Make Friends (Australians are Friendly but Not Friends) Making friends in Australia can be difficult. Australians are known for being friendly and open, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will become your friend. Although there are many people who you may come into contact with on a daily basis, such as colleagues or classmates, building meaningful relationships with them can take time and effort. It's not just about having common interests or similar backgrounds; it's also about connecting emotionally and feeling comfortable enough to share stories from your pasts. As an outsider coming to Australia, it might take some getting used to the culture before you can make genuine friendships with locals. 3. Racism Racism in Australia is a problem that has been present for many years. It is an issue that affects the lives of people from all walks of life, including Indigenous Australians, migrants and refugees. Racism can be seen in various forms such as discriminatory behaviour, unequal access to resources and services, or exclusion from social activities. Unfortunately, racism continues to affect many aspects of our society today and unfortunately there are still too many instances where individuals are treated differently based on their racial background or cultural identity. There have been numerous reports over the past decade suggesting that levels of racism remain high in Australia with a survey conducted by the Scanlon Foundation indicating that one out of four Australians experience discrimination due to their race at least once per year. The Australian Human Rights Commission also reported a significant increase in complaints about race-related matters since 2010/2011 showing an alarming trend towards increasing levels of prejudice within our communities. Furthermore, research into Indigenous deaths in custody has revealed that Indigenous Australians are disproportionately represented in the criminal justice system and are more likely to be incarcerated than non-Indigenous people. This is a clear example of how racism can have serious implications for individuals, families and communities. It is important for us all to work together towards eliminating racism from our society by promoting positive attitudes towards cultural diversity, understanding different perspectives, challenging stereotypes and speaking out against discrimination whenever we see it. By doing this, we can help create an inclusive Australia where everyone feels respected and valued regardless of their race or ethnicity.
