Welcome to Rome: The Eternal City

Nestled along the banks of the Tiber River, Rome stands as a timeless testament to the grandeur of ancient civilizations and the heartbeat of modern Italian culture. Known as The Eternal City, Rome seamlessly blends its rich history with a vibrant contemporary atmosphere, making it a captivating destination for travelers from around the globe.

A Tapestry of History:

As you wander through the cobblestone streets of Rome, you'll find yourself surrounded by iconic landmarks that whisper tales of emperors, gladiators, and Renaissance artists. The Colosseum, an architectural marvel that once hosted gladiatorial contests, the Roman Forum, a sprawling archaeological site revealing the heart of ancient Rome, and the Pantheon, a perfectly preserved temple to the gods, stand as living chapters in the city's storied past.

Art and Culture:

Rome is a living museum, where every corner reveals masterpieces from the likes of Michelangelo, Raphael, and Bernini. The Vatican City, an independent city-state within Rome, houses the awe-inspiring St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel, adorned with Michelangelo's masterful frescoes. Explore the Vatican Museums to immerse yourself in the artistry that has shaped the course of Western art for centuries.

Culinary Delights:

Indulge your taste buds in the culinary wonders of Rome, where each meal is a celebration of fresh ingredients and time-honored recipes. From the simplicity of a perfect bowl of pasta to the bold flavors of Roman-style pizza, the city offers a gastronomic journey that reflects the passion Italians have for their food.

Charm of the Piazzas:

The heart of Roman social life beats in its enchanting piazzas. Piazza Navona, with its Baroque fountains and lively atmosphere, and the iconic Spanish Steps, where locals and tourists alike gather for a leisurely afternoon, showcase the city's penchant for communal enjoyment.

Romantic Evenings:

As the sun sets over the Tiber, Rome transforms into a city of romance. Stroll hand-in-hand along the picturesque Tiber River, savoring the warm glow of streetlights reflecting on the water. Discover hidden trattorias serving delectable local wines and candlelit ristorantes offering panoramic views of the cityscape.

Rome, with its seamless blend of ancient allure and modern charm, welcomes you to uncover the layers of its fascinating history, indulge in its culinary delights, and experience the magic that lingers in the air. Embrace the spirit of La Dolce Vita as you explore the timeless beauty of The Eternal City.

18 Tips I Wish I Knew Before Visiting Rome, Italy

These 18 tips to know before visiting Rome are what I wish I knew before my trip to Rome, Italy. Hopefully these travel tips will help you from making some of my mistakes when traveling through Rome and the rest of Italy!

Rome 3-day itinerary (a mix of must-sees and hidden gems)

Want to experience Rome with us? 😊 Pick your experience here ⤵️

More tips in the caption ⤵️

🔸This is a suggested 3-day Rome itinerary made of a mix of the top must-sees with some really cool hidden gems.

Some more tips to make the best out of your Rome trip:

🔸Book Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine hill tickets online in advance. The Colosseum Archaeological Park does not seem tickets onsite any more, you’ll have to buy them online on the official Colosseum website, or third party tour operators

🔸Book the Vatican tickets (or tours) in advance. You may find tickets on the same day and on site, but with for a short 3-day trip you better book ahead to avoid disappointment and to be able to see as much as possible

🔸Centro Storico (Historical Center). Pantheon, baroque churches.. there’s so much to see in this mind-blowing area! Insider’s tip: do not forget to explore Piazza Navona overground.. and also underground! 😉

🔸Hidden Gems of Trastevere and Monti district. You have two options: either wander around randomly and get lost in the narrow alleys (which is also going to be fun!) or follow a local advice on where to find the most incredible hidden gems, where you won’t find the crowds. You can find these tips in our Video Guide (see link in bio)!

What are you absolutely looking forward to see in Rome? Tell us in the comments! ⤵️
