Gatton by sunset — LilO. Moino in Australia | S01E04

Coucou, after 4 months spent at Gatton (Queensland) for the farm work, a video was needed. All those sequences were taken at sunset (sunset for the win). We go by the Apex and Clarendon lakes, we see the coal train, the farms and Olympia in the Littleton park. Enjoy!

Gatton. Queensland - 4K Ambient Walk

Gatton is a rural town and locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, Queensland, Australia. In the 2016 census, the locality of Gatton had a population of 7,101 people. Being as small as it is it made for a peaceful 4K walking tour.

It is the administrative centre of the Lockyer Valley situated in the Lockyer Valley of South East Queensland.

Recently, the rural character of the Gatton area has started to be encroached on by the suburban sprawl of metropolitan Brisbane and Ipswich in the east and Toowoomba in the west. The Warrego Highway, which runs east–west through the Shire, has also experienced increasing strip development, with fuel outlets and commercial properties gradually spreading along the highway

Discover Ipswich | Queensland, Australia

You only have to venture 30 minutes from Brisbane to discover Queensland’s time-honoured heritage region, packed with surprising new adventures.

It’s where historic homes meet culinary cool. Where the open road leads to beautiful countryside, dotted with unexpected delights. Where you can float high above the rolling hills and ranges, or chopper in for lunch at a hatted restaurant. Where museums mark the time and vineyards ramble from vale to vale.

The pioneering spirit remains alive in Ipswich, bringing a new wave of creativity to this beautiful heritage city.

Discover why it’s never felt so young, and why you’ll feel it too.

Picnic Point - Toowoomba

The Picnic Point Park and lookout is a popular Toowoomba spot for leisurely coffees, family picnics, and short walks. Located on a peak in the Great Dividing Range it provides excellent panoramas out onto the Lockyer Valley plains below and is the starting point for a range of walks down the escarpment and through the bush below ranging from a short 500m stroll to a 5km track.
Be greeted upon entry with an avenue of mature hoop pine (Auracaria cunnninghamii) and South Queensland kauri (Agathis robusta) before the parklands open into manicured lawns. Pre-pack a picnic or use the free barbecues and find a quiet patch of grass under a bunya tree, or stop by the cafe and restaurant and take in the views over a coffee or a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's the perfect spot for bird watching and quiet contemplation.
There’s plenty of space, a children's playground, and picnic facilities. In the restaurant, you can order a coffee, snack or meal and eat inside or out on the patio with spectacular views out over the valley.
The man-made waterfall provides an attractive backdrop for family photos and the kids will love climbing across the stepping stones with very little chance of getting really wet. The whole area is beautifully planted and especially if you get up here around the Toowoomba Flower Festival when a lot of work goes into ensuring every flower bed around town is looking its best.
