Welcome to our video on the top things to do in Monterrey, Mexico. As one of Mexico’s most modern cities, Monterrey is known for its industrial prowess, stunning mountain landscapes, and vibrant culture. Here are some of the best places to visit and activities to enjoy in Monterrey.
Start your visit at Macroplaza, the heart of Monterrey and one of the largest public squares in the world. This expansive area is surrounded by important landmarks such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, Faro del Comercio, and Palacio de Gobierno. You can stroll through the green spaces, admire the monuments, and soak in the city’s historical atmosphere.
Next, visit the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MARCO), one of Mexico’s premier art museums. The museum features a wide range of contemporary Mexican and international art. Its striking architecture, designed by Ricardo Legorreta, is worth admiring on its own. The exhibits change regularly, offering a dynamic experience for art lovers.
For a dose of nature, head to Parque Fundidora, a massive urban park built on the site of a former steel foundry. The park offers everything from walking trails to lakes and is home to various cultural and entertainment venues. The Museo del Acero (Steel Museum), located within the park, showcases Monterrey’s industrial history and the role of steel in the city’s development.
You can even take a boat ride along the Santa Lucía Riverwalk, which connects Parque Fundidora to the city center, offering picturesque views along the way.
Outdoor enthusiasts should not miss Cerro de la Silla, Monterrey’s iconic saddle-shaped mountain. There are challenging hiking trails leading up to the summit, which offer panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscapes. It’s a must-do activity for adventure seekers and nature lovers.
Another popular destination for nature lovers is Chipinque Ecological Park, located in the Sierra Madre Oriental. This park offers excellent hiking and biking trails, as well as beautiful views of the Monterrey skyline and rugged mountains. It’s a great spot for picnicking, wildlife spotting, and taking in the natural beauty of the region.
To experience Monterrey’s vibrant nightlife, head to the Barrio Antiguo district. Once the city’s colonial heart, Barrio Antiguo is now a lively area filled with bars, restaurants, and clubs. The historic architecture and narrow streets give it a unique charm, making it a perfect place to enjoy music, food, and the local scene.
We hope you enjoyed learning about the top things to do in Monterrey, Mexico. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more travel tips and guides. Thanks for watching!

🇲🇽 JEREZ DE GARCÍA SALINAS, ZACATECAS, MEXICO - Welcome back to Zacatecas for another 2020 Mexico Travel video! We're back in the legendary Jerez de García Salinas! After many requests, I decided to revisit this awesome Pueblo Magico after first visiting here in May 2019. It's also Día de Muertos weekend in Mexico!
Jerez de García Salinas is a tiny pueblito about an hour's drive from Zacatecas, a state in north-central Mexico. As with all pueblos magicos, it's a special place full of colourful buildings, music, history and amazing food.
In this video I give you more reasons to add a place like Jerez de García Salinas to your plans for your Mexico trip. If you're planning on moving to Mexico, you'll have even fewer excuses to add it to your Mexico itinerary!
This video is also my FOUR YEAR TRAVEL ANNIVERSARY video, hence the feature-length. Yes, I've been travelling and working online for FOUR YEARS! In this video, we sample some brand new comida Mexicana (Mexican food) such as birria, as well as some burritos and amazing chocolate nieves at a place recommended by a subscriber. The other main topic of this video is around remembering to treasure special places and to remember we (well, some of us) are still able to travel to some beautiful locations in 2020, despite the pandemic.
