Top 10 Best Tourist Places to Visit in Yamagata | Japan 🇯🇵 🥰
About this Cave: Discovered in 1969, Abukumado Cave (あぶくま洞, Abukumadō) is a 3000 meter long limestone cave network in eastern Fukushima Prefecture, about 35 kilometers northwest of Iwaki. The spacious caverns were formed over 80 million years by underground streams, and contain countless stalactites and stalagmites of many different varieties. Abukumado Cave exhibits some unique and rare features that cannot be seen elsewhere in the country, including boxwork formations and the Christmas Tree, a two meter high stalagmite that is said to be the largest stalagmite in Asia.
About 600 meters of the caverns are opened to the public and are accessible by a series of well developed platforms, paved walkways and (often steep) staircases. It takes about an hour to explore the main walking course though the cave, and while the tunnels can be narrow at times, they are, for the most part, easily traversable. The cave uses a stage lighting system to creatively light some of its chambers including its impressive Takine Goten main hall.
More adventurous visitors can take an optional, 120 meter long exploration course which leads through a narrow side tunnel running parallel to the main course. As expected, the exploration course is more difficult to negotiate, and may require visitors to crawl through on their hands and knees at times. Also an additional, small fee is required which can be paid at the above ground ticket counter or inside the cave. The exploration course rejoins the main course in the Takine Goten hall.
Enjoy this mysterious and impressive underground fantasy world.

Urabandai | Goshikinuma | Fukushima, Japan
Urabandai – Lake Districts of Japan | Goshikinuma – Mysterious Ponds, Five colored ponds Urabandai is the best place to see the autumn fall colors in Japan. Goshikinuma is five colored pond walking trail which is famous in Urabandai. To reach Urabandai I take a Shinkansen from Tokyo to Koriyama Station. From Koriyama station you need to take a local train to Inawashiro Station and from there take a Bandai Toto Bus to reach the destination.
Here is Bishamo-numa Pond. From here you can see Mount Bandai. Mount Bandai was called Iwahashiyama which means the ladded of a rock hanging over the sky. The northern side of mount Bandai is called Urabandai. Here is Yanagi-numa Willow Lake. This pond looks different than others. I think the special attraction of this pond is not the color of the water but the beautiful clear reflection. Due to autumn this place becomes more magical. You will be mesmerised to see the amazing colours of this place. I think these trees are Japanese maple trees.Leafs are small in size and mostly yellow in colors. Here in Goshikinuma you will find bright yellow autumn fall colors. This place is really amazing. Urabandai is called “Lake Districts of Japan” due to these small and large lakes and marshlands. From 1950 this Urabandai is known as Bandai Asahi National Park. So to keep them away you can ring a bell. Though during day time you can rarely see any wild animals but in the winter you can see their footprints. You will love to walk on this walking trail while enjoying the forest, ponds and bright fall colors along the way. I think this pond is Akanuma which means Red Pond. It is a small green pond but due to high iron content , sides of the pond looks reddish in color. You can see Benten-numa pond here. Benten is the Japanese Goddess of Art and Wisdom. It is named on the God because of the beautiful peaceful colour and depth of the pond. Now I am near Midoro-numa Pond which means deep mud lake. It is also like akanuma little bit reddish. I am walking near Blue and green Ao-numa pond. Look at the color of the water. You will love to spend some time looking at the intense blue and green pond. Now I am going towards Ruri-numa pond. The dark blue color and the clear water will mesmerize your mind. I don’t miss the chance to take beautiful pictures here. Some of them I am sharing with you. Urabandai is recognized as Important Bird Area. If you want to indulge some time in the nature then this is best place for you. So Please visit Goshikinuma in Urabandai and enjoy the beautiful nature. #Urabandai #Goshikinuma #Japan
