STUNNING BEACH | The Best Beach in USA? | Siesta Key Florida | Travel Vlog
Whilst on a trip to Florida in March 2016 we visited Siesta Key Beach on the West Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. It took 2hrs to drive from Orlando just in case you were thinking about it! We were torn between Siesta Key and Clearwater as we had read both were good, decided against Daytona Beach on the East side as many had said it was mad in Spring Break and not that good a place anyway.
If you do go to Siesta Key there is SOME free parking but you need to be there early, we arrived about 10.30am and it was rammed full, ended up paying $20 to a hotel nearby who were charging visitors to use their car park.
This really was an amazing beach though, is it the best beach in America??? I don't know! Its probably the best in FL Florida though.

The Gulf coast of Florida is absolutely exquisite! Venice, Florida, is one of our favorites, albeit the most overlooked place to visit when exploring the sunshine state. Although you won't find any palaces slowly sinking into the sea or the Grand Canal like you would over at its European counterpart, what you will find is a lovely little town with just a splash of Italian flare.
Venice has a quaint little downtown area that is easily walkable. As you explore, you’ll find plenty of interdependently owned and operated shops, boutiques, cafes, and galleries. Additionally, you’ll find several beautiful gardens and an abundance of shady trees, making this a fabulous place to go when you’re looking to spend a relaxing afternoon out on the town with a good friend.
One of Venice’s biggest draws are its pristine beaches. Venice has an outstanding collection of beaches within its city limits that are both great to go lounge out on and work on your tan as well as explore on foot getting lost in the beautiful scenery. Also, before you ask Siesta Key and Myakka River State Park didn't make our list for two reasons. 1. We have an entire video focused solely on Siesta Key coming soon. 2. Myakka River State Park is still dealing with the aftermath of hurricane Ian and some of the main attractions of the park are still being repaired.
If you've read this far, here's the list of places we show in the video:
1. Explore Downtown Sarasota and eat at one of these restaurants. El Melvin's is our choice for tacos
2. Take a tour of the Ringling Museum. It's open every day from 10 am - 5 pm. Tickets are $25 per adult for just the museum or $35 for the museum and 1st floor of the Ca' d'Zan. (discounted for military and students)
3. If you're still downtown, check out Bayfront Park and the Marina Jack.
4. Head to St. Armand's Circle for shopping and even more food
5. Kayak through the mangrove tunnels in Lido Key. We rented through Sea Life Kayak. Highly recommend. Super friendly. Pretty Cheap. Opt for the kayak rent over the tour. You can spend more time in the tunnels that way.
6. Finally, check out the neighborhood of Pinecraft and grab food at Yoder's Amish Village. There's probably going to be a line out the door, but it moves fast. That just means the food's good anyway right? Also, get you a pie to go. Trust us!
